Ceasefire already seems over with Israel lobbing more missiles into Lebanon with Iran, Pakistan and the USA arguing over what was actually in the agreed ceasefire. Strait of Hormuz closed again. That didn't last long!

I think the SoH is open, for those willing to go through the Toll Booth (Ayatollah Booth) between Qeshm & Larak islands. A bargain at c. $2m, in Crypto or Yuan.

On its way back to base, the US Navy MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drone that had been patrolling the Strait of Hormuz took a turn towards Iran, squawked code 7700 (general emergency), and started descending, falling off ADS-B as it dropped under 10k feet.…..
It has now been an hour, and the drone has not reappeared on any ADS-B feed, either @flightradar24 or @ADSBex.

Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard may have put sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz during the war, a chart published by semi-official news agencies in the country on Thursday suggested.
The message may be intended to pressure the United States as uncertainty hangs over a days-old two-week ceasefire and further negotiations are set to begin in Pakistan.
The charts were released by the ISNA news agency, as well as Tasnim, which is believed to be close to the Guard, and showed a large circle marked “danger zone” in Farsi over the Traffic Separation Scheme, which was the route ships used to take through the strait – a narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf through which 20% of all oil and natural gas traded once passed.
The chart suggested ships travel further north through waters closer to Iran’s mainland near Larak Island, a route that some ships were observed taking during the war.

Comments in the media suggesting that some countriess are willing for a Hormuz Toll Booth. A very dangerous precedent for an international waterway, so stand by for the next despot that seeess an opportunity.

BREAKING: President Trump has set a deadline for European allies to provide concrete military support in the Strait of Hormuz, including the deployment of warships, Der Spiegel reports.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte informed European countries that political pledges made since the start of the conflict are no longer sufficient.
The ultimatum was relayed by Rutte after his meeting with Trump in the White House.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah "wherever necessary", following a ceasefire agreement between the US and Israel.
Israel has previously stated that the ceasefire does not include Lebanon, however Iran says Israel's continued strikes against Lebanon equate to a "grave violation" of the agreement.
For the next couple of weeks at least we can all thank Netanyahu if oil prices continue to rise

As we learnt back in 62 and 67, a blockade of a sovereign states sea lanes is considered an act of war. Putting out a notice to mariners may be a public service announcement today more than a declaration of war, we seem to have gone pretty fuzzy on the distinction of what war is vs just another brain spasm of our various leaders around this planet.

Israels actions in Lebanon are now described by the agent of O, as being involved in "a skirmish". We were supposed to have evolved, at least after Nuremberg, when the countries that ran the trials on aggressive war, and crimes against humanity were supposed to be ushering a new enlightened way of meting out victors justice. Apparently the memo had an expiry date.
It is bad enough when a leader of a nation sends their own nation over the cliff due to the u-turn resulting from populism, but then assuming that they have the right to use the term "conquest" without raising eyebrows seems a little odious.
In the meantime, Russia and China appreciate the abdiction of moral and military abdication from the leader of the free world.

Over the last month its been manic here at both Lakenhetah and Mildenhall, so here are some of my photos of movements. I posted the EA-37B Compass Call II and F-35C in their respective threads and the ANG A-10C further up this thread.
Interesting enough I do not take interest or notice of any MC-130J Commando II as they like the Bloody Hundereth KC-135R/T and Night Owl CV-22B as they are common / part of the furniture so to speak. However I made some exceptions with the appearance of CONUS MC-130J Silent Knight /Commando III and Penn Guard (for half a century operating Commando Solo before trans to the MC-130J). so here are my photos below of them transiting,
interesting enough when the FF Raptors turned up at the 'Heath, it was assumed they would go down to the sandpit so it was puzzling when they been here for a month and when they have left recently, they have gone back home!! All they did was go and play in the North Sea while here.

A couple of observations:
- I thought he'd secured free passage, at least for a fortnight. Is he suggesting that he won't be able negotiate a deal during this period?
- He does realise it'll take at least two weeks to move ships into the area?
- Have similar demands been placed on other non-NATO allies? (rhetorical - we all know the answer)

For Marion Messmer, the director of the international security programme at Chatham House, Israel’s strikes on Lebanon point to a deeper issue: Washington’s difficulty in managing its relationship with Israel, its ally in the war against Iran. In a briefing, Messmer wrote: “Israel’s insistence that its military action in Lebanon is not part of the agreement reveals a key vulnerability and shows the limits of the US ability to manage its allies: the ongoing bombing campaigns in Lebanon could undermine the ceasefire overall and keep the US trapped in a conflict it is now seeking to exit. “After weeks of President Trump being furious with European allies for not sufficiently supporting the US, it now appears to be the alliance relationship with Israel that provides more of a risk to US interests in the Middle East.”

Such tolls were approximately two-thirds of the income for the Danish state tolling ships passing through the strait between Denmark and Sweden. Enforced by the cannon at Helsingør. Only removed by treaty in 1857. Aircraft pay transit fees to traverse various countries' airspaces as well. It's not unprecedented. Unwelcome, quite probably.
Even the toll level is not unprecedented: the Danes tolled at 1-2% of cargo value, with the incentive of requiring the cargo to be purchasable by the Danish state at the value declared.
History might not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

I doubt the complexities, such as they are, of ships passing though the Straits of Hormuz are in any way comparable with the complexity, precision, equipment, training and general establishment required for aviation en route services.
Maybe we should try that stunt with the English Channel - and see how popular that idea is...
