Re: Caption competition

Beep-barp-burr. Warnink, aircraft reversink! Beep-barp-burr...

or

"Uh-oh. Hmm, if that drains to a bottle aft of my seat, I'm fine, but..."

or

Sub Lt Prune had seen "Titanic" far too often.

or

Others, of course, had come out of a gruelling no-coffee chat with the boss to stand quietly at the deck edge and look out to sea for a while. But only Prune did so in his aircraft.

or

"Ops, zero-one. I have the caption ITLNJB -- what does that mean?"

Re: Caption competition

Many thanks for the vote of confidence re the last piccie. I was indeed too busy studying and not at my cpu....

And for the next one...

"The US Navy's experiment with allowing female pilots had been a complete success right up until the Parking phase of the course"

A cheap shot but I'm the only one brave enough to say what you've all been thinking...

I'll be judging this at about 2000Z Sunday, gentlemen, so get your entries in if you want to stand a chance of wearing the laurel wreath.

I think what he said, Sir, was: "Bloody hell, Admiral! Next time you're reversing don't let the clutch out so quickly!"

Re: Caption competition

Gentlemen

After much deliberation, and quantities of chuckling, I am pleased to announce the results of the Caption Comp.

In third place: Brian Dixon "... and if you fit the gun, the CofG moves slightly forward"

In second place: AirScrew: Hang on a minute lads. I've got a great idea.......

But ahead of the pack by a distance, the incomparable ShyTorque, with "I think what he said, Sir, was: "Bloody hell, Admiral! Next time you're reversing don't let the clutch out so quickly!""

So, step forward ST, and set us our caption challenge.

Re: Caption competition

I was present when this one took place - got in trouble by getting airborne in response in my "static display" Puma before the official SAR cover Wessex did.

Re: Caption competition

Bearing in mind that this happened on day one of a two day show and yup, I was there too...

"Sergei was fairly non plussed at the thought of having to do exactly the same thing again tomorrow"

Conan

and as an aside, I could not help but chuckle when in the local rag the following week, was an ad on the Sits Vac page looking for a "Mig welder"

The new armourer got a little bit carried away with the ejector seat explosives.

Re: Caption competition

Oddly enough Milt, the good old Ozzers put up a 111 shortly after flying had recommenced about 40 minutes later. There were a lot of shrieks from the crowd when they DID Dump&Burn...
