Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

You know you're getting old when pilots begin to look very young.

If we start training him now the ATC glider fleet might just be back in service by the time he is old enough to fly one as a cadet!

...or even FAA seedcorn for the F-35.

The votes are in, and an honorable mention for the classic from Dan Gerous:
"When I grow up, I want to be a pilot.
You can't do both son."

But the winner is MPN11 with :"The CAA and FAA immediately expressed grave concern about the number of seat cushions that would be required."

The CST is in the virtual courier to you now........

(I was expecting someone to maybe try "Children of the magenta line" or similar )

There is disquiet on NATO AEW Sqn 2 as it is discovered that the pilots have been issued with yellow wellingtons.

(Back in the 1980s, the USAF flight deck crews at Geilenkirchen were issued with leather flying jackets, but the mission crew were not scaled for them unless they bought their own - oh the whinging that went on!)
