Hoorah......and we are off

MM, as usual what utter tosh

The Gib guys and gals, just been there recently, are still outstanding cos they are still being motivated by an outstanding DAMO

Here in Wilts, the most difficult place on the planet to get away from, we have NO OUSTANDING DAMO's......so draw your own conclusion

Ah.. ABIW, managed to shoe horn yourself into your flying suit for some more banter...

Tosh it may be, but of course being an ALM you know everything don't you, my humble appologies..

Never doubted the GIB guys, just stating the fact we all do our best under the circumstances.

" we had one a couple of years ago who's chebs were PARTICULARLY outstanding...."

That wouldn't be the chebs previously mentioned when located in Basrah would it ?

Thank you Bill Dobbs for bringing this back to the top of the boards. Life has been soooooooo boring. Now that the boys are back in town everything is looking a lot brighter.

MM I have read your comments on your previous threads and I was just wandering if you mean that Main base movers work even harder to gain access to the Aircraft before the crew manage to get their DF's and Golf clubs off. Or are you saying that the Gib movers are underworked slack s***s who only work during the summer months on maybe one aircraft a week!!!!!!

I think that we should also have the other shift fired as it aways seems to be thier fault...................................

Speaking of QTR. Read in a recent edition of the UKMAMS "Team Brief" that the guys did very well in a competition over in the US recently. Cannot remember all the details cos it would appear that Mrs E has binned that particular edition. However I do recall that they did very well with an engines running QTR on Albert. Does anyone know what type of loads were loaded/unloaded and times ?
Always good fun loading/unloading with engines running, I can just recall all the noise and the smell of burning kerosene. Wonderful adrenalin rush.

3850,

I think you're being a bit picky.......It's fairly obvious what MM meant and it was no way detrimental to the guys in Gib.

I too enjoy Loading and unloading with my engine running. Cant quite recall the wife ever smelling of kerosenie though. We did however suffer from friction burns and well there was a rush.............but not adrenalin!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I can't help you with the other info though.

Its true, the movers did beat the yanks to win the "BEST C130 ERO" event.
They also came close in a number of other tasks, which along with the results from the crew, 47AD, TMW and the teccies left us with the "BEST INTERNATIONAL TEAM" trophy. Upset that nobody else publicised this on this site...

Well done all...

MM,

" the "BEST INTERNATIONAL TEAM" trophy. "

One assumes therefore that the Spams awarded themselves a trophy on account of them being the host nation and not because they were the best.

3850,

Just wondered why you would want to make an issue about a rather innocuous remark made many months ago by MM regarding the guys in Gib. Also your rather off thread post in which you want to share with eveyone your sexual proclivities.

Probably awarded themselves some well earned medals too.

Beating the American movers..........what a fantastic achievement....bit like England beating Wales today....not exactly difficult and hardly worth the boast

Now when base movers can out perform 47AD that will be a day for you to start beating your chest MM
