Well said, what-to-do !
Some are so damned greedy … |
You have no idea what you’re talking about….
we never got any bonus. The profit share that the company deigned to award us is solely at their discretion which can go down to zero and has been so in previous years. A decent pay rise can be planned with and also includes the increased contribution to the provident fund. Greed has nothing to do with it, a fair salary for a fair month of work. At the moment it’s skewed heavily in the company’s favour. |

Remind me what you got for a bonus over the last three years……

Just a begrudged FlyDubai pilot, who should worry about his own company’s pathetic terms and conditions. Check out his previous posts.
My post was simply putting perspective on the situation. Your post was what? |

I’m sure people have better things to do than read peoples historic posts. To be honest, I have no idea what the relevance is anyway. Irrespective of where i work, simply pointing out that large payments, tax free ones, have been made over the last few years. Whilst this is not a salary increase as such, it is not a small amount of money. Talk to your colleagues in Europe, South Africa etc and ask what they got after tax.
My post was simply putting perspective on the situation. Your post was what? How does it feel being trapped? It’s a pity isn’t it?! |

Your post was that of a disgruntled FlyDubai pilot. Telling fellow ME pilots how much better they have it in the Middle East compared to other corners of the world. I agree with you about your historic posts. They are not worth reading. It is more of the same trolling.
For your information I don’t work at FZ. You seem to let your anger cloud your judgement. No one said anything about how much better off you are. I made a simple comment reflecting the size of the bonuses of late. Nothing more, nothing less. I bet you’re an absolute joy to have in the right seat. |

Oh well… Here we go again! Another South African or Middle/South American pilot with no other option than flying in the UAE/Middle East, apart from moving back to their home countries, which most of them don’t want to….
How does it feel being trapped? It’s a pity isn’t it?! And for the record, no, i am not trapped, so I can’t speculate how it feels. |
Gents,
Take a breath. Don’t devalue the good posts with keyboard warrior angst. I’m sure you’d all get along in a bar . |
Nah, i wouldn't go back to Europe or look for a job in the States at any cost
I made the right move when I moved to the ME |
So we are talking about a 4% pay rise, but a 10% rise in education allowance and 15% on accommodation allowance, correct? does it match current inflation rates?
Because every UK airline who offered pay rises were way off when it comes to cost of living. Honest question, what is positive about the place? Can you save money by living normally (not driving bentleys etc). Is the work environment positive? |

I wouldn’t call a 17% year 1 and RPI + for years 2 and 3 at Ezy below cost of living would you?
Yet you didn’t answer the question so allow someone else a try. |
Why would they give you a payrise, If you’re already there? They already own you.

People who are leaving, are leaving for lifestyle reasons, not because of the wages.

Ek has done the ususal thing, it looks ok but shows how they think:
1% pay rise 3% step (which is not automatic every year as some people think!) and that is all that is taken into account when they add to your provident fund (only locals get a pension - final salary based!!) All other allowances have no effect on your provident fund. Surprisingly they just about cover what the rent rises and school fee rises are - funny how they are so precise, almost like it was worked out before hand!! |
