Well said, what-to-do !

Some are so damned greedy …

break dancer 30th June 2024 06:09

You have no idea what you’re talking about….
we never got any bonus. The profit share that the company deigned to award us is solely at their discretion which can go down to zero and has been so in previous years.
A decent pay rise can be planned with and also includes the increased contribution to the provident fund. Greed has nothing to do with it, a fair salary for a fair month of work. At the moment it’s skewed heavily in the company’s favour.

Remind me what you got for a bonus over the last three years……

Just a begrudged FlyDubai pilot, who should worry about his own company’s pathetic terms and conditions. Check out his previous posts.

I’m sure people have better things to do than read peoples historic posts. To be honest, I have no idea what the relevance is anyway. Irrespective of where i work, simply pointing out that large payments, tax free ones, have been made over the last few years. Whilst this is not a salary increase as such, it is not a small amount of money. Talk to your colleagues in Europe, South Africa etc and ask what they got after tax.

My post was simply putting perspective on the situation. Your post was what?

Oh well… Here we go again! Another South African or Middle/South American pilot with no other option than flying in the UAE/Middle East, apart from moving back to their home countries, which most of them don’t want to….

How does it feel being trapped? It’s a pity isn’t it?!

Your post was that of a disgruntled FlyDubai pilot. Telling fellow ME pilots how much better they have it in the Middle East compared to other corners of the world. I agree with you about your historic posts. They are not worth reading. It is more of the same trolling.

What an angry little man you are. Relax!

For your information I don’t work at FZ. You seem to let your anger cloud your judgement. No one said anything about how much better off you are. I made a simple comment reflecting the size of the bonuses of late. Nothing more, nothing less.

I bet you’re an absolute joy to have in the right seat.

You’re very much mistaken I’m afraid. You couldn’t be any further off the mark if you tried. Try not to jump to conclusions just because you feel triggered by a simple post. Read it again, what is it that triggers you so much?

And for the record, no, i am not trapped, so I can’t speculate how it feels.

Gents,

Take a breath.

Don’t devalue the good posts with keyboard warrior angst. I’m sure you’d all get along in a bar .

Hotclown 30th June 2024 18:23

Nah, i wouldn't go back to Europe or look for a job in the States at any cost

I made the right move when I moved to the ME

Raph737 30th June 2024 20:09

So we are talking about a 4% pay rise, but a 10% rise in education allowance and 15% on accommodation allowance, correct? does it match current inflation rates?
Because every UK airline who offered pay rises were way off when it comes to cost of living.

Honest question, what is positive about the place? Can you save money by living normally (not driving bentleys etc). Is the work environment positive?

I wouldn’t call a 17% year 1 and RPI + for years 2 and 3 at Ezy below cost of living would you?

Yes, come back here and look at the reality on the the ground first, then like at my airline, look at their covid pay cuts and what they have given back up to achieve 17%. Their pilots rejected the same deal in may, it passed with a few caveats. You should leave the ME and come here and you’ll see that the country is financially f**** and no, that figure isn’t enough.

Yet you didn’t answer the question so allow someone else a try.

Yorkshire_Pudding 1st July 2024 00:39

Why would they give you a payrise, If you’re already there? They already own you.

Almost correct. 4% increase for basic and flight pay and 10% for education and accommodation. (15% is for lower grades of cabin crew and ground staff).

People who are leaving, are leaving for lifestyle reasons, not because of the wages.

So the fellow poster is delusional, because not only the 17% EZY offer is not enough considering the rise in interest rates in the UK and cost of living, the rosters are rubbish and you fly just as much here. I am supposedly on the best contract in the country, got back at 4am from a greek island, and they called me at 8am asking to do a night Larnaca on overtime. They won’t respect your rest and lifestyle either. I laugh when I see ex EK guys think Our offering in the UK is better. Less money for the same work and the respect (lack thereof) is equal now. People forget that during COVID the airlines here did exactly the same as ME.

Its better to stay quite when you don’t know what you are talking about.

Ek has done the ususal thing, it looks ok but shows how they think:
1% pay rise
3% step (which is not automatic every year as some people think!)
and that is all that is taken into account when they add to your provident fund (only locals get a pension - final salary based!!)

All other allowances have no effect on your provident fund. Surprisingly they just about cover what the rent rises and school fee rises are - funny how they are so precise, almost like it was worked out before hand!!

So they cover the costs, right? Just about but they do. Whilst here those costs have also risen but will come out of your salary. My point is, the money is better when you look in detail. Also, the rosters are now equally bad so I asked what else is positive about the place?
