There are lots of crap things about Europe, America, the middle east, but you arent going to fix them so you build your life around them, or you do what you do and come up with a childish online personality and attack everyone else. I have met many people like you in real life, and their lives are all pathetic once you look behind the curtain which is why they are so angry all of the time. Usually middle aged men with no kids more often than not, children humble you, and unfortunately the guys who need it the most never experience it.

Not sure having kids always “grounds” people as you put it . I still think it’s important, as a parent, to teach my children that if they act like people act in Dubai, in the real world they won’t be very popular .When they go to university and think it’s acceptable to scream at a taxi driver for going the wrong way or expect a different nationality from a lower socio economic country to iron their pants, they are in for a big shock. Whilst a racist joke might attract some applause at the mall , at the Union pub in Bristol. people might not laugh with them. I certainly wouldn’t spend my time justifying the actions of the state on clearly indefensible grounds to ease my own conscience.

Sad when another airline has problem (Latam B777 mxp tail,scrape)and immediately at EK we get told to do our SOPS correctly! Veiled threats again, like we didn’t already know we have to do SOPS,,

when the A340 scraped tail in aus years ago, EK was investigated.
Final report said there was a lamentable lack of communication at ek. Not sure much has changed however fear culture still growing nicely!

The ME management mentality will never change. I have been in and out of the ME for 3 decades and the only thing that has changed is.......nothing.
