Anyone knows if they are going to lower the experience for boeing/bus type rated guys? What a f**King joke asking for 2k on a turboprop and 1k bus+2k over 42T for the jet guys, WHAT A JOKE.

WhatShortage

If you don't like it, don't get so stressed and if you are there, leave, or otherwise do not bother applying if you dislike it so much.

I can see you would be fun to work with, and CRM would sure be a challenge ....................

Different entry levels, different training syllabus. Been done before and proven to be a success.Ask all the `QL guys on the LHS.Therefore the inherent snobbery by P2F SSTR jet guys toward their TP fellow professional has been neutered and the playing field leveled.
Low time type rated jet candidates can be a bigger risk that experienced TP guys depending on your provenance, but try telling that to someone like you. Go away and get the jet hours for that entry level. Having a jet rating you were able to pay for doesn't make you a more skilled pilot. Not having the hours to apply does however mean you are still wet behind your little jet ears. Go cut your teeth some more and get a return on daddy's money. That's the entitlement joke here.

Our Group profit target for 2023-24 is set at AED 11.9 billion

The amount made from in the first 6 months was:

Emirates’ revenue shot up by 19% to AED 59.5 billion, and its profit by 134% to AED 9.4 billion. dnata’s revenue increased by 27% to AED 9.3 billion with profit climbing by 200% to AED 709 million.

So target 11.9b, first half made 10.1b.

Second half is traditionally stronger than the first.

I hope you do realise that the bonus amount offered is related to how desperate they are with recruitment. Word does get around very quickly all around the world. They do not pay bonuses to say thank you from the bottoms of their kind hears.

Don’t think so . Have it on good authority that it will be bigger than last year

freakyfreighter 10th May 2024 10:06

StinkyIndian 10th May 2024 14:55

hoping this slightly lower than expected / hoped for number is because there is a better pay review , salary increase in the wings!
will have to wait and see what the pay review says!

SunnyTheSemen 13th May 2024 17:45

20 weeks is a kick in the teeth. Let’s hope for a proper pay rise this year

Yarra 13th May 2024 20:49

A kick in the teeth alright, 10.5 months salary as a bonus over the past two years. Terrible.

EpsilonVaz 13th May 2024 21:19

If you give pilots a bag of gold they will complain it's too heavy.

You guys have really short memories..

How any of you continue to work there after what they did to your friends and colleagues in Covid is beyond me.

20 weeks great…

How’s your rosters?
Off to India again at 2am tonight?
Still feeling constantly fatigued?
Many days off a month?
Family still on the other side of the world?

Wake up guys… life outside of EK, don’t let your loyalty be bought, give yourself more value.

What UK/EU/US airline is paying you 20 weeks of salary bonus? each to their own and I hear you when you say it has it's problems. But there's no better back home, in UK for example, the flag carrier is un full tokenism mode where I hear women get an easier sim check to pass, the pay is atrocious and they are still brute. VA is lost and God knows why they are still alive, the charters and low cost will work you as hard as EK for less money. EK let 800 pilots go during Covid? How did BA, VA, Ryanair, Easy etc treated their pilots? they were made redundant too. Don't forget that the country is on its knees, crime, taxes, cost of living etc.
I can't help to feel that some guys are detached from the reality because the've spent too much time there when things were good. Not saying EK is best or great, just asking what's TRULY better out there?!

They’re all !!!!! and they all have their advantages. Personally I think any airline that doesn’t offer multiple part time models is a no-go to start with. Part time at some stage in your career, for some period of your career, is a must unless you are ok with ending up constantly feeling wore down, have no / little social life, no time or energy for any hobbies and a family who no longer recognises you or worse, a family that has left you.

The only other option is a decent rotational schedule, which is very hard to find, and then you also need a family who are 100% onboard with it otherwise it won’t work.

Worth the switch?

I was just wondering how is the life in EK? How are the rosters&pay and benefits? Accommodation provided ? Child education? Is the money really good? What are some of the downsides in the middle east.
