Application Unsuccesfull

Hi guys,
I applied for First Officer role as B777 f/o around January. My application status was " application under review" since then. Last week they sent me an email says " we are currently reviewing your application and please ensure you have gathered all the required information/documents."
They have sent me a link to update the flight hours and all other information. I updated my info and saved it. Today they have sent me an email with " Unfortunately, we won't be progressing with your application at this time." with no information about when I can reapply or what was the problem.
Anyone had any similar issues? I checked all my documents and information everything was correct and valid. I really don't know what was wrong with my application.

They probably don't actually need anyone due to the situation, but want to save face.

Anyone Boeing rated did an assesment with them over the last months ?

skywalker2212 21st April 2026 14:50

I got one email saying good luck one email saying reapply after 24 months. Not sure what to make out of it. Both emails I got them at the same time.

Boeing rated here — did the Dubai assessment a while back. What do you want to know? Happy to help with anything specific. The process is pretty well documented in this thread but if you've got particular questions about the sim or COMPASS just ask.

From what I understand EK requires an unfrozen ATPL before joining, but the holding pool situation can vary. I've seen candidates offered a pool place while still completing their ATPL hours, with a condition attached. Worth emailing EK recruitment directly to confirm your specific situation, they're usually responsive on that kind of query. Don't let it stop you applying though, the process takes long enough that you'd likely have time to sort it.

Had a mate go through the process recently with under 2000 hours at the time of interview... He got through but EK made it clear the hours needed to be met before his joining date. So it seems like they'll consider you, they just won't let you join until you hit the threshold

MS teams interview next, anyone has any particular tips other than what is already out there?

Non type rated FO

Did Emirates get rid of NTR requirements?
it used to be 2000hrs or more on aircraft > 20T.
Now they require type ratings?

uniform_alpha 30th April 2026 15:21

Ciao sail, you don't need to unfreeze your ATPL to be put in the pool. I had my assessment in November when I still had the CPL and was put in the pool regardless.

I unfroze the ATPL in February and sent them the new License. They replied they still don't know how long it's going to take before things start moving. I applied in June 2025 777 NTR, for context.

Hi uniform_alpha, thanks a lot for the info!

I've successfully passed the online interview and now I have my final step in Dubai, anyone has any recent feedback on what to expect especially on the SIM side? Would you think it's a good idea to book a couple of hours in a 777 sim? I'm boeing rated but not 777, additionally will Emirates let you use your current SOPs or will they send me something I should study?

Final Validation

Hi Guys,

I completed my Dubai Assessment like 2 months ago, I’ve waiting for the result since then. Has anyone done the Dubai Assessment recently? Do you guys receive anything from Emirates? Thank you.

Hi airbusloverforlife. I'm in the same situation, "Final Validation" since the Assessment. I'm really eager to hear the results to start planning life accordingly.
Let us know when your status changes!

So how long does it take to get feedback after first stage hirevue? I am 777 type rated.

in general how long does the whole recruitment process take?

havoste 9th June 2026 17:40

The whole timeline could be up to a year right now especially for low time applicants. Hiring and assessments seem to only to be keeping up appearances that everything is normal, adding way too many people into a pool than class slots available.

Online Interview

I have been invited to online interview. Any tips? What do they ask? I heard there is no technical questions, is it true?

ClassicMoran 11th June 2026 21:27

Flyingaut how was your online interview? Any tips?
