Yer rumours already beginning about slowing down recruitment, defo not the safest place to be joining right now. A380 job in the ME is probably the least secure flying job on the planet when times are tough (saw that 2020) . The guys who arrived just before the pandemic left dubai before their cases arrived!
Very worrying re the looming recession, very probably the biggest any of us will ever see. I'm sure the last ones to return last will have a mark next to their name for leaving first. My advice to them would be get out quick! |
Is Timmy going to stay on through the next crisis as well?

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it, or something along those lines.

It's an unpopular and immutable fact but I am one of the greatest pilots to grace the world, so I'll be safe.

Still those who left out of seniority and rejoined towards the end despite being in the company longer than many others probably still have a mark next to their names, don't tell me EK gave them a clean start, no chance!
EK380 will always be a risky job in aviation, yet guys come! (Not always the smart ones) |
If anyone would like a glimpse of how toxic the company is, have a read of what Crispy C wrote on his LinkedIn. Whilst in the midst of a global pandemic. As mass redundancies were taking place.

Funny how any thread about emirates descends into absolute anarchy.
The best part about it, most of the posts are true. Good luck to any new joiners. Welcome to the mad house. :ugh: |

Im with nervous on this one. I think he would be worried about his own position over the pandemic and that appalling linked in post was red meat to the EK gods. Scary that he nearly got deputy chief pilot airbus.
properly wasn’t enough of a yes sayer to AAR |

Save your energy and just apply to Qatar. More money and more hours. Means you can get out of the Middle East quicker and back to civilisation. Live style in any of these Persian Gulf states is the same.

What are the chances of being called with ATR or dash 8 turboprop hours? I know they count as they are >20T, but are people actually being called with them or are they last priority behind 737/320 rated?

Fair enough. Has it not happened in the past though?

There’s an old recruitment video on YouTube, Irish girl telling everyone how many shoes she can buy in Dubai mall and that’s why she chose emirates. True story. |
