groundtoflightdeck 12th Dec 2012 17:18

All I can say is I don't have a ek type on my license. .. a little airbus time.

bluesaddict 12th Dec 2012 17:30

Yes, by type-rated I meant airbus and Boeing ( any from both families)

falcon10 13th Dec 2012 08:56

Just curious, but how do they fly you out to DXB from the US? Standby, or SA biz etc? Is there a US gateway that is preferred over others for lighter loads and such?

groundtoflightdeck 13th Dec 2012 10:55

Pos Y upgradable to J ( believe thsts PY0J5). Not sure what happens to your wife if they buy Y confirmed. Dont think the files are combined so you may rely on the graciousness of the agent if you were upgraded.

falcon10 19th Dec 2012 20:59

Friend who was shortlisted for DEC and FO earlier this year with 9k hours and currently a widebody captain was told by EK he wasnt competitive :hmm:. Only thing I can think of is age and that maybe he was military. Thoughts?

JPHIL68 20th Dec 2012 19:58

BAD NEWS FOR HIM:(

No news since november shortlisted (A319320321 with +5500 on type)

Anyway i wish you an happy christmas and good news for the next year:ok:

goldthop 24th Dec 2012 17:27

Received a personal email from an EK recruiter yesterday saying that FO interviewing would commence shortly, but only for those with 50T+ experience. Everyone else that meets the published requirements would have to be "patient." Could certainly be quite a while in my estimation as there have been 8 months passed since the interviews stopped which left a lot of time for new applicants to apply and build up the selection pool.

falcon10 24th Dec 2012 17:48

Another friend got an email from a SR in HR that said to update his details and to expect a call soon, only to followed shortly by another email saying that after review, they wont be calling him now because they are only accepting current Boeing and Airbus pilots only and will only consider him after exhausting those applicants. I guess that other widebody with 3 engines doesnt qualify as an airplane. :ugh:

McNulty 24th Dec 2012 23:02

Just curious....the people that have received emails from HR, did they email HR first and then get a response, or did they just get an email out of the blue?

falcon10 24th Dec 2012 23:11

They emailed HR. In these cases they had been in contact earlier this year when they were invited to various PSP that were cancelled.

bluesaddict 24th Dec 2012 23:37

I was invited to a PSP, then uninvited a week before. Been trying to contact HR but it has been impossible.
I hope they run out of +50T soon.....
Merry Christmas to you all guys.

McNulty 25th Dec 2012 18:02

Thanks for the info....I have 3000 737ng time, still havent received an email from hr apart from the obvious standardised "you have been shortlisted" stuff.

Good to keep each other informed on here anyway. Happy Christmas! (maybe next Christmas will be spent in Dubai?)

2012 25th Dec 2012 20:56

McNulty, you put my mind at ease there. I'm similar to yourself (4000 hours 737ng). Applied in may and heard nothing apart from being short listed etc.

Merry Xmas

fatbus 26th Dec 2012 05:33

You might find a slight low down on interviewing until Apr , they seem to run over on budget at the end on the year and go nuts come the new year Apr1/2013.

JPHIL68 4th Jan 2013 13:12

Happy new year for all slisted :)

So any news from hr? for me nothing......

patlani1104 6th Jan 2013 03:55

Does any one knows why?

I sent my application on September and then in November changed from shirt listed to under review. I checked my mail at the beginning of 2013 and now my status changed again from under review back to shorlisted.:ooh:

Thanks

falcon10 20th Jan 2013 02:31

I was recently invited to pick from a selection of dates in Feb. I did. Then was told never mind they made a mistake and thought I had an Airbus rating - but the invite email said Boeing! :ugh:

Turbine1 20th Jan 2013 11:39

Amsterdam

Amsterdam, sometime in Feb, short listed through 2012, April.

So far, it looks like they are only looking for Boeing rated...

Any one with Airbus was recently invited?

Hi all,

Been shortlisted since end of 2011.

Got an email saying that there's nearly 2000 guys under review with more experience than I. So they are getting called first. :ugh:

Been rated on both Boeing and Airbus. Currently TT 5000 & 2500 B747

Probably hear something from them when they are ready.
Fly safe
Cheers
