Great post Green...the part I loved the best was about the punitive culture and fatigue. I used to call it "Background radiation". You never knew when you would wake up and find an email that was going to run your day.

Nothing will change though, unless or until there is a change of culture directed by the very top. And, judging by the latest turn of events, things are likely to continue getting worse. Several of my very experienced colleagues at other airlines have considered applying to EK. Each time, I just sent them my current roster. Not a single one actually applied. |

This is weird. A prospective new joiner, Warhammer, gives a factual description of how he was mistreated in the simulator by the instructors, and you have a go at him?
Then you tell everybody how bad EK is, including sim instructors/trainers? |

FEB 380 CA.
3 Mauritius, 1 JFK, 1 Taipei, 1 day ground school, 1 day sim. By some miracle, this schedule actually allows 9 days off. |

Think lots of people are looking for a way out . And es the roster is not great and the moral on line is pretty low . Not so easy just to quit and find a new job but more and more people trying and finding . This is not a great job in regards to time off and health . CA 777 feb roster with 11 days off top bid and actually happy I got 11 days ! Have not seen that for a while .

A pulse A pilots license And a plan of leaving. They don’t want anyone staying a long time hence the reason they treat us like crap. If you really want EK you’ll get hired. |

Basically as an FO living in company housing you will take home about 8000usd/mo not including your pension. If you live out, then it is 11,700usd/mo or there abouts. So as you can see, you can still make good money here but you really need to consider your personal circumstances.

That's really good compared to what I am making right now. Honestly speaking flying the bush of Alaska is prob the hardest flying job ever not to mention the lifestyle.
