Indeed. Actually visited it a few days ago.

Now if they are willing to put a few billions on the table I'm sure Airbus would be attentive 😉

Sorry, my mistake I should have said pushing fir production of spare parts
ek is robbing spares from aircraft in maintenance (both 777 and 380) and rotating them throughout line aircraft to keep fleet running. It’s not uncommon practice but spares are limited.

I wonder how Global Airlines will manage their 380s if EK are struggling with parts

Sorry to change the subject but I went to a Emirates recruitment roadshow recently and was told upgrade time on the 380 was 3.5 and the 777 was 3 years.

This sounds suspiciously short. Can anyone confirm these numbers?

Quoted 4 at the Sydney roadshow apparently.

Currently sitting at 5 years, so barring any further delivery issues or black swan events, 3-4 seems realistic.

The new options / improvements coming on crew pulse and swaps are what have been available in the system since it was introduced. EK management denied it but they restricted it. Other airlines have been using the full unrestricted system as it was designed for years!
Ek only improve things when they’re not getting the pilots they need!

RIA has not started yet, correct? Why would DCPB (ground) state that people who left were reapplying to come back to EK? Anybody hear this?

“Nothing” when compared to the roster I was flying when I was there sounds like an attractive proposition

All due respect but this is not the “who got the job, did anyone get start date, what’s the holding period, where’s the best place to live, how are the schools, what’s the A380 roster like compared the B777 etc etc” thread!
Please go to another more relevant thread or start one or if not ask me I’ll start one for you!,!

its supposed to be rumors for those already at Ek about rumors they’ve heard or want to start.

Thanks

maybe you should have clarified that earlier as I’m definitely not the first to ask after hearing a rumour about long holding periods at EK, and the title of the thread is emirates rumour mil lol

Mate, ignore the ignorant responses. You asked a fair question on a thread that referred to EK rumours.
Consider this, you are likely to be working with these guys.
However, I’m sure that not all of them are as arrogant and rude as the two jokers who replied to you.
That said, it might be wise to start a new thread, like the QR thread, where hopefully you will meet a better class of individual

Maybe you could have worded your response better. what you have written here comes across…………badly. People might think that you are like this on the flight deck………..

They are indeed like this on the flight deck. Pif Paf and Break Dancer have both been her 20+ years and no one has been able to find the fuel cut off switch to stop them whining.
