Retirement
I’m curious what happens to a pilot who retires from Etihad after a 25 year career in terms of retirement benefits. With Emirates the provident fund is closer to 2 Million USD(estimated).
with Etihad it seems like the end of service benefit is kind of like $200,000 USD. Thats a difference of $1.8 Million USD between Emirates and Etihad. Is there something else or am I missing something????

What a shame! Such a good company but once you retire you are on the streets. Unless you save throughout your career. Abu Dhabi being so expensive, you really cant save if you have a family. Not enough to support yourself thru retirement. I also found out the monthly pay is lower than fly dubai and air arabia. Way lower than emirates when you factor in housing allowance.
the funny thing is they advertise pay which includes housing allowance and its still lower than all. Their answer to this is hire everyone from one particular country. Management cheaping out

Any joining date updates
Hi all,
I completed my assessment and was close to finishing the pre-employment process when the situation escalated due to the war.
Additionally, a new platform was introduced, and I can no longer track my application progress. It currently only shows “Under Review.”
My application is still pending, and I haven’t received any updates regarding a joining date.
Has any captain or first officer recently been contacted by EY and started the training process?
I would really appreciate any updates or shared experiences.

Narrowbody Commands (737 & 321XLR) running at 6 years. FOs in the most junior fleet making $300k.
What you really meant to say is, "For those people who have worked elsewhere and just want to do nothing in the back seat of a Widebody and make $250K as an SO, you can't anymore,"
Maybe you should take your own advice.

The top 5% of NB FO's are pulling $300k by selling their souls, and essentially living at work. $230k if is a more accurate figure, whilst still working your a** off.
$250k for an SO is again, on the top end, and mostly reserved for legacy 380 SO's with pre dementia and arthritis. $160k is again, a more accurate figure for the average 330/787 SO.
Oh let me guess - you're a sky god who includes super in your figures.
Of course all of these figures are pre-tax, so can dock 40-47% off those for most.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sigh.
No, the NB FOs who are selling their souls are making $350k - that top 5% you refer to.There was a new EA voted up......it made a substantial difference to the money.
Correct, the legacy SOs are making the $250k, while the C scalers are making $180k ish minimum. That was my point - maybe you need to re read the sentence I wrote...

No, not including Super figures.

Someone earlier mentioned that retirement at EK after 25 years is around $2 million. The math doesn’t add up, I was there for 12 years and took home $285K and my investments had been green throughout

I emailed them several times without any response. Eventually, I managed to get a phone number and called them directly. They basically told me to disregard any previous updates or status information I had received, and that they would email or call me once they had any further updates….don’t know when this will happen…

Thanks for your valuable info.
My situation was similar. I was on onboarding status and had been informed that I would receive a status update within a week. Then the conflict happened, and since then I haven’t had any contact from Etihad.

Quick maths on my napkin (app) suggests an annualised 9-10% will get you there in 25 years.
Possible but certainly not assured!
Whats the EY retirement scheme?

Doesn't that entirely depend on how much you save? I save 100k a year so I'm fairly confident that in 10 years I'll have 1M. My neighbour who blows most of his salary on cars, women and Champagne? Probably not.
