Question is... Will they honor it (everything going well with deliveries and stuff)? Or if you are an expat you won't stand a chance?

From my understanding the transition to a whole saudi crew is not an if, it will happen.
They already started a massive cadet programme, local airlines are recruiting FOs in a surplus, many experienced people will be joining from the army/air force.
Saudi arabia is totally different from UAE and Qatar, the talent pool is much bigger.
Also, keep in mind that OEMs delays have caused a revision of the initial plans, so things will be moving slower than initially expected.
Initially I was interested in the company but after a chat with one of the managers I knew it would be only a temporary job.

I joined a big company part of a massive group in Eu, was told that with my experience I would be in the left in 3 years.
Turned out to be a lie, 9 years later an FO that started after me is still in the right....

As for Saudisation, I honestly don’t know how it will ultimately play out for expats joining as FOs, and I wouldn’t wish that kind of uncertainty on anyone. The higher risk appears to be on the A321 side, where localization pressure could be stronger through cadets and local hires from FAD and NAS. That doesn’t mean the 787 is risk free. There is still pressure from experienced locals applying from Saudia and other operators. The level of risk on the 787 side will largely depend on aircraft deliveries and how many qualified local pilots are available to fill those seats.
As for the biggest question, would they get rid of expats? Captains, very unlikely. FOs, I honestly don’t know. Only time will tell. I just hope short term hiring doesn’t grow out of proportion and create issues with locals later on.

I deliberately used the word “verbally” because nothing in this industry is guaranteed, especially at a startup. Upgrades are always subject to operational requirements and fleet growth.

There's hundreds of planes on order for Saudi Arabia. They'll need a lot of arabs to fill those seats.

Hello everyone,
I recently completed the stage 1 online assessments. Does anyone know roughly how long the waiting time is to hear if you’ve have progressed? Any idea who they are prioritising? People who are available immediately? People with previous heavy time? I applied for the FO position 787, I have heard the panel interview is quite intense. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
