I know several captains and FOs flying for Saudia who commute between Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh, and I can tell you; it’s really not worth it. Not at all. The constant travel, fatigue, and lack of stability take a serious toll. I even know a few who went through divorces or have unstable family lives because of it.If you’re coming in as an expat and bringing your family, the best thing you can do is to live in base. Commuting might sound doable at first, but it’s exhausting both mentally and practically. Trust me, it’s just not worth the hassle.

Its also worth mentioning that these days flights are packed and can get expensive, Saudia guys would have the advantage of free tickets but even then its a tough slog.

First flight touched down at LHR this morning, using the 787 leased from WY. First flights are staff only, tickets not on sale yet.

Any current new hires already living in RUH? What is the roster like at the moment with no flying schedule?

lots of days off and hanging around, or they have you attending ground training etc?

have they established a Cheif Pilot and flight ops team yet?

what about the training department has that been fully recruited with a CFI, TRE/TRI’s & LTC’s

is there a head quarters yet?

what will the commute to RUH be like? Parking/shuttle etc?

The lady that worked at EK (M K) and now is at RX in Pilot recuritment .... heard she has a list of candidates she quite conveniently rejected at EK and now is using the same list in RX.

I guess that certain former cabin maid loves the power she has over Pilot recruitment. Maybe she just hates Pilots because of a certain past ?

I did my video interview on 31/8 and still don’t have a response. My online application also still says under review. I’m also hoping for the Airbus even though I’m rated on both Boeing and Airbus.

Unlikely they will proceed with online interview applicants for now, they have a group of pilots already on staff and don’t even have a single aircraft yet.

expect them to continue with the process once aircraft start arriving and the operation actually gets off the ground

You are aware that they actually don’t have any aircraft or anything that can be considered an airline yet? We are not talking Emirates here.

I had an invitation stating I had 20 days to complete on the 9th of February, today (the 11th) it says I only have 8 days to complete the assessment. Anyone had something similar?
Is anyone also applying? Curious for feedback about the asessment.

All in all 15-20 minutes
nice and straight forward? Any possibility to be more specific? Perhaps if someone comes straight out of the ATPL its a bit different then when done many years ago ;-)

Just a bit of unsolicited advice/opinion: any time you, as an applicant, get within sight, sound or written communication with any airline HR people you are being judged/evaluated, it's an interview.
