Aren’t you just a bundle of joy! No need to be hostile, I suggest you take a few deep breaths! It’s good for you and you’ll hold on to your class 1 medical longer

I have! If you read my question, it’s tailored made for Canada and I was simply wondering if other Canadians went through the program. Also the apply button is broken in both the CAE and flydubai website so I wasn’t sure who to contact.

Why do you think the process for a Canadian license conversion is different to an FAA or EASA?
The people to contact is CAE for this info. Trusting prune for accurate information is risky.
Hostile? Did I swear or make belittling remarks? Did I attack you personally? Just cause you don't like a response doesn't make it an attack on you.

Hi Cruise,
do you have any idea about how the process is different and if there is any advantage if u have GCAA license and you apply directly to flydubai training centre instead of CAE?

Hello everyone,
It seems that they have updated their website which includes more details about the selection process after the TR.
I recently got an answer from the FlyDubai Training Centre : 👇🏻
Kindly be advised that currently flydubai conducts self-sponsored B737 Type Rating Courses for GCAA license holders only. Therefore, if you wish to enroll in the program with flydubai but you hold a foreign license, you will be required to convert your current license to a GCAA one and fulfill the below stated minimum requirements. License conversion can be done, for example, at Fujairah aviation academy.
Minimum requirements for B737 Type Rating Course:
Kindly note that successful completion of the program does not guarantee employment. However, once you have successfully completed the course and the skill test (first attempt), then you become eligible to apply for a Second Officer position, if a vacancy is available.
Alternatively, for foreign licenses, our training partner - CAE conducts the type rating. You may contact them for more information on the Type Rating Program that they offer.
For Second Officer vacancies, please contact Deborah Madushika at from CAE, who can assist you with more information; or continue to monitor our official career website and follow the recruitment process.
P-S : Since it's a new account I cannot include any links, you can alternatively find Deborah's email address in previous posts.

You are spot on ! The placement varies and no one can really predict. During my batch from application to getting called to do the course was less than 1 month but i know people who waited nearly 1 year. Same case with getting the job, my previous batch guy were asked to join in less than 2 weeks and there are people who waited 1.5 years so honestly no one can answer this question cause it all depends on the training slot availability.

There is definitely an advantage if you have a GCAA license, one of which is you don't need to write any of those exams. In the past people with GCAA license did their rating directly through the flydubai training center rather than CAE. But you still need to apply with CAE.

Hi there I already follow this post for a while so to be conclude I have T CPL with Multi IR with 300 TT with ATPL 13 subjects passed so if I want to apply this program I have to contact CAE first because Fly Dubai center only take care who is hold in GCCA but the the thing could I do the sim assessment first or do I have to start type rating 737 course with CAE because if I do 737 type rating first it is very risk for me.

you need to do the rating with CAE and upon passing everything on the first try you will get an interview with Flydubai not a guaranteed job.

TR holding pool
There is anyone who can tell how long had to wait to get the date for the type rating course ?
I did my assessment and exams , informed them about it and they told me I have to wait now.
Has been 1 month of wait so far and nothing.
anyone who did the programme and can tell me how long was the wait to get at least the date for the TR ?
