Pay 'Review'

Well, just back from vacation, to see the email from TCAS.

Very disappointing in the way EK treat us. They want everything from us and give nothing in return. Obviously management are shielded from price hikes in Dubai, and the rise in tickets which they blatantly refuse to address.

I have had enough of them taking an hour from me before every flight, expecting me to do courses on days off, with threats if I do not do them in time, and the general lack of respect for their employees. They are just money-grabbing, and so much for TCAS's comment in the announcement for our continued support etc; jerk.

OK, feeling vented, and no co-operation from one more.

It is very nice to see how everybody here complains.........threatening the company not to do anything anymore beyond the books......
In the mean time........ not many ASRs about the three man crew north america ops...... or maybe discretion......
If we keep complaining here and then we simply do everything on the line they are right treating us as they do......
I honestly lost hope and faith........

At the risk of a bit of thread creep, the 3 man crew to New York is operated under ULR rules so discretion is not an option. Heck, you can do 22 hours and it is perfectly legal.

The company takes, and keeps right on taking.

Edit- Kingpost is right, 15 hours. Must be working too hard....

Not really - for a 3 man crew you're limited to 15 hours!

Being right does not mean it is safe........
I think that an ASR about fatigue should be filed everyday for this kind of ops....
But, again, filing and ASR means that you have to put your staff number.......it is not as anonymous as here.........
That is why I lost my hope.......
They treat us exactly as we deserve........
And what is even more sad is that i read "IDIOTS", writing about different salary between A330 and A380 pilots..........

Captain Chipotle

The pilot workforce received a 0.5 percent pay rise on basic last year, nothing the previous year and nothing this year. That's half a percent on basic over 3 years. Step increments are not ever to be considered part of a pay increase. Just ask those at the top of the step grades!

Not heard of the confidential safety reporting system? If you haven't the balls to submit an ASR, at least do something. No excuse for apathy!

It is in fact a fudge factor regarding BOS and JFK. The Company is using some of the normal FDP rules and mixing them up with some ULR rules to get a win win. It's a con and the reason why I don't bid for them. As for duty hours, they are unlimited, it's the FDP 's that are restricted whether they be 15 with max 3 hours discretion for 3 man crew under normal rules or 22 hours under ULR ops. I think you are confusing two different rules!

......as are the Company, only intentionally so on their part.

So what is the rule with 3 man 'ULR'. Does anyone actually have a clear idea?

Keep your eye on the ball....don't drift

Gentlemen,

This is a thread about the pay review, keep your eye on the ball and don't drift off into another, albeit valid, topic such as ULR flying.

It's not about how much we earn it's about how much we work.

Thanks for the clarification Harry. We can play semantics all day/night long, but can we seriously agree not to argue the small points amongst ourselves? There are bigger issues at hand.

Overworked and underpaid. We can start there.

Limitations

If pilots treated their engines the way EK treated their pilots the pilots would be in deep poo. Yet EK seems to run their pilots the legal max hours and min days off month after month after month. EK requires pilots to take care of their engine (reduce stress and wear) yet pushes their pilots to the legal limits. I have never seen schedules as routinely brutal as the ones at EK. To reward the hardest working pilots in the world. .5% over the past 3 years??

Cathay seem to have reviewed the recent pay offer and made an improvement.
Shame our lot won't do the same.
Sorry can't seem to put the link in but it's in the Fragrant Harbour section.

gardenshed,

Don't you believe it!! All other staff got 3-4% with no strings. All the pilots have been offered has productivity involved. Nothing for inflation. It is
now going to mediation (not binding).

Don't worry BusyB - we've all read it on PPRUNE now. It just became a flight deck fact.

Thankyou gardenshed, looks interesting.

Would you mind posting your log in details so I can read it please?

Or, since I am lazy, a copy/paste of the article would suffice......
