- However, whilst not guaranteed, we hope we will be in a position to offer you a position within the 12 month application currency period.
- Please note your application currency is only valid for a period of one year from the date of completion of your selection programme, after which time if still interested, we would require you to reapply to us and you would need to be reassessed.
- Please note that to join Emirates, you must have flown a commercial aircraft on a regular basis within the 12 month period before your start date.
Here are the parts where they talked about the 12 months. But I can t find anything about having to start within those 12 months...

Well, I think it is obvious that they mean the start date.
They can not, for example, call you an tell you:
"you will start in 2015 but hey! we called you before the 12 months were gone so it is fine".
Regarding the extension of the 12 months.
It is just a feeling that I have but Emirates guys seems to be quite "professional" or "strict" on that kind of things. If they say that something works like that I don't expect them to be making exemptions. Some of us will have to re-assess again but well, we did it good once I guess we can do it ok next time!

What about the medical check? If you join lets say after 1 year and 3 months since you did your medical, instead of being able to renew it you may have to do it all over again as if it was an initial one because it is out of date.
Quite a fer more € for the company, isn't it?

spyce,
I meant getting a job offer without having to do any kind of tests again.Hence feb -3 months. You said that this 12 month thing applies for the personality tests? I remember a recruiting specialist telling us that especially those tests are very accurate and when the time comes for the upgrade assessment, the results than will very little differ to those at the beginning. So why the f
doing them after one year?
Let's say they will offer me a starting date for apr, that would mean that the new assessment would be on jan, right? considering the 3 months notice but than again I would still be in the 12 month period.

Excuse me, are we talking about the same? We all did a medical check at the end of the assessment which gave us 1 year validity for the medical license in the UAE.
That was a company medical check and also a medical check to get our UAE medical certificate which will be out of date after 1 year.

Nobody is happy to be waiting such a long time but I don't think that people here is bitching about the recruiters job. They were quite professional and nice when we were there so no bad words for them.
About the situation, is a f
big s
but nothing to do with them, same in QR and some other companies. Market fluctuations I would say.

To clear this up once and for all I have directly asked Emirates what the situation is regarding the 3 months thing. The answer came back that you must start a course within 12 months of passing selection.
I understand that this is due to the validity of the medical but that could be incorrect.

lj,
no one is slating the recruitment procedure. If EK wants the candidates to play the piano while balancing on a red rubber ball as part of the assessment, so be it.
It's the uncertainty and all the waiting which is nerve wracking. Personally I don't mind the recruiters reading this thread

Guys, I can assure you, they do read this. Their job is to fill the needs of fleet which is subject to planning which is subject to commercial. I am also reasonably sure that there will be no exceptions to the 12 month rule. It's a good company but they are not known to make exceptions to any policies.

I received the good news on monday! Just finished dotting the Is and crossing the Ts.
I assessed in March.
It seems like the pool really is emptying now, I just hope that they can squeeze you all through before your applications expire.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the thread and good luck to you all remaining in the pool.
