QA CEO on Bloomberg regarding IATA EXC. PAY

Well guys,
CEO good or bad, everybody has his own point about him
Am asking all one question: what is transparent in QR or whole Qatar and are they a state airline or not, where money plays no or or a minor role
With cheap labour u can make profits as well, no social plans to pay no taxes
Think about this before anybody starts saying anything about other than ME airlines
And if the CEO complains about something, so I want to know his salary, I want to know the whole story behind QR, who is giving the money to whom and how much

just for info guys...
QR is still very much a privately owned company with vast interest from the state goverment..which means like you are running your own privete business but with help from your family members.so..where then money comes or goes OR how much you pay your staff or your ceo..you dont have to disclose it..if profit all yours..if loses then u bear it yourself...
till QR goes public all this info will not be displayed..however IATA is a publicly involved organization which will and have to print out the expenditure and budget to all member airline including their management salaries....to summarize...QR is still a private airline ( only one owner ),however many rumours that QR would go public soon..by 2013..
as for the current CEO..he has been here since 1997 and manage to turn around this airline from flying old 747's till now flying almost 100 shinning brand new jets and major global player in airline industry...i am not going to dispute or get into the topic of management but obviously QR is producing results so much so that EU/US carriers are so frighten with the expansions.
anyway thats upper level management..as a line pilot i am just happy to be able to jet around on new toys,well maintained and good layover places..many shortcoming of course but then it happens in all companies..
..it time to enjoy my drinks now...

Well, if creating an airline with an unlimited amount of cash is an achievement, yes you can say good job AAB, but I really don't see it being grand....
All this IATA crap from AAB is because the EU/US airline are feeling the pain from middle east carriers, because middle east carriers can afford to loose money (as QR does, regardless of what papers say), but airlines in the real world cannot afford to loose money as a CEO has to face all stakeholders, and board meetings. He is trying to deviate attention from a point the germans are trying to bring afloat.
The same way he plays all this cabin crew chasing and pilot hunting to deviate attention of how much money he is making on a personal basis.
So dear colleagues before you come to a conclusion about the management skills of this particular small individual look in the QR history and try to find many of the great deficiencies we have and how they have not been able to be fixed in the last years. As an example the resignation ratio, pilots without training for 6 or 7 months, the A340 fiasco with his beloved in flight bar, the jump ships all over the planet etc....
Indiana..ce. not against you, but recommend you to read about aviation history and try to think what will happen to this airline when the machine that transforms gas into money is dry........

Might be wrong but i think AAB is/was the CEO of Doha airport as well.
What ever the reason..i think everybody will agree that this is definitely Another famous fiasco or a serious lack of planning and a serious loss of money.

Its pretty easy to build an airline if no one cares what it wil cost nor if they ever will make a single Dollar profit
If it was that easy then how come Airlines like Kuwait Airways , Gulf Air and Oman Air arent that big or famous when compared to QR
All these airlines are owned by their respective govt and their economies run on Oil Money
I am sure funding was not a problem for these govt's
Granted the CEO is not perfect but he must have done something right to bring it to the level it is today and within the span of time the airline has been in operation
This AAB has no qualifications to be a CEO at all
What qualifications do you think Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had and yet were CEO's of their respective companies . Look at their companies today....

no personal bashing please......cyrilroy..totally like your posting...i am all for totally result orientated and dynamic driven boss than a paper qualified chair person..shortcomings happens everywhere but final results counts.in short span of 14 yrs this airline turned around to be a major player..surely something the CEO doing is right...many airlines with plenty of public money splashed into just turned sour...RBA,AIR INDIA,INDIAN AIRLINES,GULF,..ETC....

There is Safety Division in IATA. After several accidents and thousands lives lost I wonder what will be IATA action regarding:
-safety in Air France: 3 airplanes lost from year 2000.
-Safety in India after Mangalore crash and very non standard ATC we have to dill with every day
-Safety in China regarding recent incident with fuel emergency.

How does the IATA executives pay affect QR or any other airline ? I fail to understand the signifigance of Mr baker's question.
IATA is a public organisation so these figures are available while QR and other airlines are private and their management compensation packages are not publicly published.

Indianace. QR is 49% owned by the 'state', 51% owned by 'privately' by the Prime Minister. To describe it as privately owned is surely incorrect. Though who can tell where one ends and another begins!!!

following your statement..if its 51% privately owned..then its still a private company...
public or private..OR.. if the airline making money or not..OR..how the airline paying for the planes...who cares?? as long as the salary comes in every month...
been here few years and the salary has never been late and good salary as well..HAPPY FLYING.
