Emirates (EK) Interview - all you need to know about it (threads merged)
How many days before your interviews have you guys/gals been getting your travel itinerary?
<2 weeks to go and no info/comms. More worried about my partner who has booked her ticket but needs info for the visa.

EK - ICAO ATPL requirement
I have over 4600 TT with +2200 A320 hours as an F/O, I hold an ICAO and FAA commercial pilot license, where I live and work in order to get an ATPL I need to be upgraded to PIC ... so my question is, if I get the FAA ATPL, would this be good enough to comply with this requirement? ... I dont see an upgrade to PIC comming my way
any time soon...and even if it does it wouldn't be smart to leave the company after been upgraded...not good on the resume..lol

Rj, get yourself the ATPL. The company does not discriminate where you got your licence, but the lack of it could seriously hamper your getting the job.
Either way, you will need it before you get here for the validation process.

Emirates off days
Hi friends,
Is it true that you can't leave Dubai in your off-days unless you get permission from the company and you get this permission with difficulty?
Thanks a lot..

EK - ICAO ATPL requirement Question!?
"Your ICAO ATPL and Class 1 Medical must both be issued by the same country, and the medical must be valid for at least 3 months from date of joining. Both must be issued by the same State authority where you have flown with the carrier last shown in your logbook. "
I fly "N" tail number A320 on a country other than the USA, so all my hours jet hours were flown outside the "State authority" were the license and medical were issue...but we fly this airplanes with a Special Purpose permit from the FAA .... is my FAA ATPL good even if all the hours were not flown on a USA base airline???

Stupid question..

"You have not completed all the steps of the application form. To resume your application, click on the Update button.
If you do not accomplish the form within 3 months, your application will be invalid. "
What happens after the 3 month time limit? besides invalidation of the application..???

@P2.5 -- I've got the same SIM invite .. mine is on October 12th in Atlanta. I just ordered the Emirates Interview guide online by authors X,Y, and Z --- I hope it is current! Does anyone have a current SIM profile? Anyone going to be there on the 12th?

Guys,
Seriously, don't waste your time or money on this "guide" to the interview!!
I just completed the selection process and it is the first of its' kind I have ever done in my career. I passed all stages without any preping.
No prior studying is required! Everything is explained and briefed very thoroughly during the process.
In addition, preparing answers in advance will be easily detected by the interview panel and, believe me, it will only hurt your chances. They want to see you, not someone you invented before the interview.
Be yourself, and you will be fine.
In a bit I will post what is done on each day. I won't post specific examples because, trust me, it changes and you will probably get something different.
