Sim prep on MAX assessment on NG
Hello guys,
I received good feedbacks about the sim prep at AFA but from what I understand their simulator is the MAX and the assessment is the NG. (I did my MCC on the MAX but never used the NG) Does anyone here used AFA for their sim prep for Ryanair assessment? |

That's crazy isn't?

The position must be advertised externally by law. You can be certain the next CP has already been chosen though.

I know some people that did it, they were all very happy with it (although there is survivorship bias in my statement).
Honestly doesn't matter if it is an NG or a MAX. It is a fixed based 737, the handling won't be great and for that effect pitch & power settings are your best friend (you will find that both the sims and the real aircraft respond really well to pitch-power tables). Also, for what you will be asked to do in the sim your tech knowledge doesn't really matter, just focus on having decent handling, good CRM, good decision making process and good SA. That sim assessment is in place to access your general non type specific skills, the examiners know that you are not familiar with the aircraft. |
Hello everyone,
I applied for Ryanair as a cadet on June 2nd and haven't heard back yet. Can anyone here provide information about the standard wait time for a response from Ryanair regarding job applications? If you have recently applied to Ryanair or have knowledge of their recruitment process, I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences regarding the average wait time for a response. Thank you in advance for any insights or experiences you can provide. Best regards |

Ryanair sim preparation
Good morning all, I did sim preparation a few months ago with Adrian Carrie, at AFA (Dublin) and I have to say he was very unprofessional with me and other guys that I know. It all started from the beginning of my sim preparation all because I did not do the zoom course with him, even during the briefing he spoke to me disrespectfully in front of my other colleagues. It wasn’t my fault that I was scheduled with him for the sim despite not having done the zoom meeting with him which was an extra €100.
At the end of the session he told me that I didn’t have any chance to pass the assessment and I went out of the sim with more uncertainties than when I went in! I would like to point out that I was a mentored student in AFA and I did the MCC with no issue. Despite this the next day I went in with my head high sat the assessment which I passed successfully. Obviously it was my personal experience which wasn't the first time it’s happened as I have heard similar things by other pilot as well! my best advise stay away from Him! |
DA42 interview question
My friend got the following question during his interview and I was wondering if anyone know the answer.
If a catastrophic failure occurs on a DA42 and the propeller immediately stops, what do you do ? Would you be able to feather? |
The AFA sim prep can be helpful, though I too got advice that I was going to fail (unless I did another session and the zoom course). Went in and passed ... that was a while ago now

In my opinion when I pay for a service I want to receive the best of treatment and respect, then if I need more practice, that is another story. Of course this is my personal opinion and I respect others!! |

My friend applied 3 weeks ago and he got invitation for online assessment after two weeks. We're both Polish but Im currently living in France and wondering if I change address for Polish one then I will get invitation? |
Anyone applied to Ryanair recently?

100% is helpful to do the sim preparation, I’m not saying the opposite, what I said was don’t do it with him. Of course mine it’s just an advise as consequence of my experience. And exactly as you said Adrian used to say to many cadets that is appropriate to do more sim preparation, I can understand that cadets are not perfect especially at that stage, but he use “psychological terrorism” to push you to spend other money, and that was confirmed to me by other guys too.
