I did my preparation with pilotest.com which is free and it was very helpful for the cut-e but there was no question bank. I got some really tough questions and probably this is what failed me although my atpl theory knowledge is very good.

That's probably because a lot of crews are forced to self-isolate due to Covid rules. Seems to be the case in many airlines.

Two of my ex-colleagues used pilotassessments.com for their RYR assessment and they recommend this website as the aptitude tests are exactly what you can expect during the online assessment and the forum is known to contains latest questions from the technical ATPL test.

From a personal perspective I can recommend this website as well as I used it for my CLX assessment.

Exactly. BA but that’s after about 30 years of grafting. Middle East carriers if you add everything up but that’s because 0 tax. Guy I know retired from EK after 15 years, this was a few years ago and was on £15k month without adding his accommodation. That would be £320k minimum on a UK salary.

Other than that I don’t know anyone on

at any UK/EU airline without some serious seniority.

I believe You need to be able to speak other than English, an Asian language most of the time to be able to work in Asia or in the Middle East.

Full ATPL(A) in corporate aviation, with a CS25 rating but no Advanced UPRT.
Unfortunately, with my profil I need to apply for Ryanair Cadet Program. Is a Advanced UPRT course mandatory to apply (Ryanair requirements) or can I follow the regulation (Advanced UPRT not mandatory)?

Thanks for the response, only saw it now. Yeah I hope my age won’t hinder me or else I’m in trouble, poured a lot of money into this and am paying it all back with or without a flying position.
I suppose I cam just hang tight and see how things go and try and reapply for a mentored aps again.

I have recently been offered a place on a RYR mentored scheme APS MCC and I am in my mid 30's. I hope age isn't ultimately a factor, plenty of advantages us 'experienced' guys can offer so hopefully all airlines are after a healthy balance of young and 'old'.
There will of course be more younger guys at assessments - there are more younger guys training so hopefully the age ratios of people starting training to those getting assessments are about matched.
If you haven't done the APS MCC yet, maybe speak to the provider and see if they can communicate with their contacts at RYR....

In 2019 I had assesment in Dublin.
We had 8 guys, 4 with APS MCC and 4 with basic MCC.
Only 3 of us received job offer, all with basic MCC.
So don't take APS MCC as guarantee to get a job at Ryanair, it's just a very expensive version of MCC.

Thank you buddy, sound advice right there and I intend to work as hard as I can for the job offer. I was only referring to the age comments for initial assessments and those who are at interviews/sim assessments. I am certainly not complacent in thinking anything is in the bag.

Hello everyone, I would like to ask which website did you use for exercising the Inductive and Deductive exercises for the online assessment. I am currently using latestpilotjobs but it seems that many people have said that the sites exercises are much more easier than the ones in the actual test

Still no news from Ryanair for the moment... i just continue to prepare the pre-selection process.

I am thinking of applying for the Ryanair Mentored APS later this month. I am trying to get an understanding of the initial training pipeline and career structure as well as the financial aspects. Is my understanding correct:

- The TR costs cadets €30,000 (£25,000) up front with no guarantee of a contract at the end. There is no further training bond.

- The TR and base training will take around 3 months during which cadets earn no salary and no subsistence. No accommodation is provided by the training provider or included in the price of the TR.

- After base training (3 months since starting the TR) you have to complete around 70 sectors for line training which should take 3 months Cadets are paid £16,800 plus £12.83 SBH pay. Line training is generally done in the UK for UK passport holders.

- After line training (6 months after starting the TR), cadets MAY be offered a six-month SO contract with a salary of £16,800 (£21,000-20%) plus £12.83 per scheduled block hour. Assuming 800hrs a year, this equates to a salary of £27,064.

- For this first contract, UK Passport holders can be based in the UK, Ireland or Morocco.

- Following this first contract, you may be offered another contract of longer duration.

- This initial salary will likely last for about six to nine months (12-15 months after starting the TR) until you hit 500hrs at which point you are promoted to FO and your salary increases to £23,000 basic plus £32 per SBH (equating to £48,600 assuming 800hrs per year).

- After you accrue 1500hrs and I assume your fATPL is unfrozen (say another 18 months later and 2.5-3 years since starting the TR), the per SBH increases to circa £59. This increases the effective salary to £70,200, again assuming 800 hours per year.

Is this a reasonable summary?
