All you modular dreamers out there, time to wake up and smell the roses..

No one is going to let you walk out of flight school with 200 hours and go straight to a big shiny jet, you did not go through integrated. They have the strangle hold on the market and its not a new thing.

So for modular it is going to take lot more time for the first jet job, but you all chose that path, don't go complaining about it now because you didn't make the right decision.

You want a fly a big shiny jet quick, get mummy and daddy give you lots of money to go integrated.

Nothing is for free in aviation, you didn't pay 50K to win the lottery, when other guys paid 120K.... simple as that folks.

You could clearly write what some of you guys know about pilot training on the back of a postage stamp.

Firstly, at no point in the FTE arcticle about Norwegian does it state that Norwegian will be exclusively selecting integrated students/graduates for employment. I suggest you polish up on your comprehension skills, you might need them if you want to be a pilot.

Secondly, FTE recommend their modular students to the airlines if they are good enough. If you read the FTE website there is even a testimony from a FTE modular student.

Anyhow, regardless of what FTE say I know plenty of modular students who are happily employed in the airlines, flying 'shiny' jets as their first job.

There is no right or wrong way to train. To all the keyboard warriors, if you are an aspiring pilot, you are going to struggle with the CRM aspect of airline flying.

Just to be clear , AFTA are putting forward recommended graduates , there is no exclusive deal . And I cant see a claim by anyone on this thread suggesting an "exclusive" deal for FTE either or any other school for that matter rather the names of schools who are supplying cadets at the moment. Not getting into modular v integrated debate not even relevant here!!!!!

Hahaha calm down guys you are a bit nervous! I am modular too and a fact is a fact! They clearly specify that they prefer integrated pilot, but anyway if you chose modular you probably did knowing that u will work flying something else apart from shinny jets! ;)

By the way, a lot of modulars (after FR) fly for Norwegian! :)

They also asked CAE for some candidates.

Has anyone been successful with the latest recruitment with AFTA in Cork?
I hear that the sim assessment and interview is pretty highly priced at €600!! :=

What are other places (FTE, CAE etc) charging for the privilege?

I have heard from an inside source within NAS that the deal for any new FO is not the pink and fluffy version that was sold to them in the first place. This actually would make RYR look like the best deal going forward the better option to pursue.

Also, does anyone know if the graduates that have been put forward are a select group or any that need jobs?

Speaking to FTE at Pilot Careers Live they said they were asked to supply 20 cadets for an interview with NAS but they only had 15 cadets left. They apparently can't produce the cadets quickly enough.

Time to stock up on vaseline and hope they might consider lil' modular me :sad:

Annoying thing is they probably won't ever reject my application; Never even heard back after I applied last year for their SSTR scheme

I dont know for what kind of people Norwegian is looking but what I do know is that now and then I see people getting hired who have almost no hours at all ie. 200hrs total time.

Myself, who has also applied for the non type rated scheme have around 1200tt of which 1000 are on heavy turbo prop and I dont hear anything at all from them haha
