1) most of those on here urging caution are not bullies, they are using their own experiences and mistakes made to try and help others avoid the same.
2) ‘spend their money and chance it’ the majority of these kids are not spending their own money but their parents/family money and undoubtably are misleading them as to what the opportunity is just so they can ‘fly a 737’ 3) Selling BigMacs will earn you more money over the next year/18 months than you’ll earn flying for Ryr as a cadet. |
I am offering accurate and up to date info on the current situation for cadets who pass the assessment. How is that not useful?

Idiocracy is a movie you should watch. |

"Everyone gets offended nowadays if they see something they disagree with and feel the need to butt in." Yet... here we are, you taking offence over something you admit it doesn't affect you directly, and you're having total meltdowns over your defence of the indefensible, the irony... I believe that there is a significant difference between telling the cadets the full picture and calling for caution, and demanding them not to do it. I certainly wouldnt tell them to, however I did advise to proceed with caution with the added note that once the assessment is passed, that they should ask for a much later course date as it buys them time. Step off the keyboard, have a drink and watch a good series as you are completely misguided. |

BC's ? Base Captains again.... It's not a qualification, it doesn't appear on your licence, it doesn't require any additional aviation skill, and it's an irrelevant inclusion. |

Because I care about protecting our Industry, rights, working conditions and the welfare of those entering it. I'm a professional pilot, i've put in the hard work, i'm well trained and I have self worth. I therefore would be reluctant to pay 30k to accept being paid less than i would at Maccys for flying commercial airliners, particularly when the majority of airliners are grounded until further notice and my earnings depended on how many hours i flew. It's called perspective. The guys who finished TR before Covid were here all not so long ago with the same rhetoric... they have since been made redundant. This isn't dissimilar to the P2F schemes we saw not so long ago, they're definitely trying their best! Again, it's called perspective. CURRENT RYANAIR REQUIREMENTS
CURRENT 2021 RYANAIR ASSESSMENT DETAILS & PREP Candidates who are selected will be required to do an online pre-assessment test. If you then get shortlisted to the next stage, the below steps will follow:
Prep: https://airlineassessmentprep.com/ir...t-preparation/ 2021 COURSE OUTLINE Phase 1: Six-day introduction course Phase 2: Ground Training
CURRENT 2021 CADET PROGRAMME T&CS - TR course start dates run from 1st March and costs 30k. - Cadets are to cover additional costs such as assessments and interviews, security passes, uniform, living costs during TR in EMA, food. - No remuneration for Cadets during TR. - A training contract between yourself AFA and a contractor called Blue Sky Aviation exists to provide only TR, base and LT. - Cadets are paid pro rata 16K by Blue Sky Aviation for the period of LT - 4 - 6 months - roughly 1K per month - from Base Training stage. - Total earnings at best 6K. - Cadets are expected to relocate to any Ryr base at their own expense for LT. - No further agreements stand between the cadet and any party after LT. - No flying is guaranteed after finishing LT. Expect little to no hours over winter, contract potentially from April 2022. Note this is UNPAID time off. - Further employment is subject to individual performance (no sick days) and business demand and will be on a zero hours basis with a ryr contractor. - Cadets would have to cover the cost of their own 737 LPC if necessary after LT if there isn't sufficient market recovery - Cadets sign their training contract on day 1 and are unable to see it before paying the full TR fee. Finally from Ryanair themselves: While XXX and its approved XXX XXX Agencies currently have positions available at bases throughout Europe, you must clearly understand that the training contract does not constitute an offer of employment nor a guarantee of an offer of employment at any time. Upon successful completion of your training you may be offered an employment contract with XXX or one of our XXX XXXXX Providers subject to your satisfactory performance during the term of this training contract and the requirements of the business at the prevailing time. Helpful enough? |
I’m going to echo the others, this thread is for the sim assessment and interview so, to the same 4 or 5 of you who are still arguing about Ryanair and your opinions on the TR, why not go make your own thread?
Any feedback on the HR and technical interview would be much appreciated! |
SID PLATE
No its not a qualification but no one said it was. Its a position and the money and time off is not bad. The last couple of Chief Pilots are ex BCs. In fact some of the most senior management pilots and Chief Pilots that I know of in other airlines were ex BCs and Base Pilot managers. It only seems irrelevant to you but clearly within the senior management structures of airlines it isnt irrelevant. That might be of interest to some people. Is that so hard to understand? Most of the BCs are alright guys. There are exceptions... like everywhere. I presume you are not a fan of your current BC. Sorry to hear that! |
Cadets unable to see their contract before paying TR fee, is this true, why would they do this, is that even legal, who is going to sign a contract they cannot read before!?!?
|
Contract is issued to cadets on Day 1 for it to be signed there and then. Why would they do that if it’s all above board ?
|
Can people back out of it after seeing & get their money back, am sure there would be legal grounds here
|
After taking the pre-assessment, it took exactly 2 weeks till I got my reply! :)

I’ve no idea if that’s even possible, you’d be terrified to even ask if you paid £30k, get to day 1 read a contract you’re not happy with and choose to pull out. Potentially a legal issue but I think they avoid this by using other companies and not ryr directly. |
Contact Approach,
Can I ask you, where did you find the Terms and Conditions for the 2021 Cadet Program, because as long as I know, it has not been released yet, including the salary conditions. Look forward to hearing from you! :) |

Plan very long term and cautiously. And I'd be pissed if I had to be grounded and not paid because a cadet has to do a line training that will take their into unpaid leave. I hope this will not be confirmed. This might be pure bs, because Ryanair is the company that many love to hate. |
What I don't understand is why many MCC/JOC and APS providers are posting on LinkedIn : "Congrats to XXX on being hired by Ryanair etc..." when we all know that there is no contract between students and Ryanair but AFA Type Rating contract... (+ Blue Sky Aviation).
Even the pilot recruitment manager himself is reposting ! Did I miss something ? |
It's a total PR stunt to keep the machine turning. They need to keep the students coming.
|
I wouldn’t take Contact Approaches predicted ‘T’s & C’s’ as gospel.
If you’re going to be accurate, be accurate. Training contract pay is: £16,800 (21k - 20%) + £12.80 per BH (£16 - 20% (once safety pilot released)). |
Your + per BH during line training won't amount to very much whatsoever... you are being paid 16k to fly a commercial airliner then nothing after LT. Get real! You are paid more and receive better working conditions at Mcdonalds as a server:

I’m not saying it’s a lot of money, I am just stating the facts, which you have been failing to do.
