blimey, 2 mccs eh!

Mind you, if we do go into recession it wouldn’t surprise me if the airlines start asking for 2 cpls and an IR on a plane with 4 engines instead of 2!!

i'm guessing you've done or are doing the course at ctc then - good luck with it..

ReallyAnnoyed,

You might want to check the certificate you had from CTC. If you had already completed an MCC elsewhere you will find that it is a certificate of completing intial CRM training, not MCC.

Myself and a couple of friends who had an MCC before we went to CTC didn't find this out until Type Rating! No big drama though.

Other than having 2 MCC's I echo your comments.

you have to basically gamble £7K on an mcc which costs £2K anywhere else, and then you still could be told 'no thanks'.
A few other things to bear in mind:

When I went through, cost was £6.5k, but included £1000 for acommodation for the course. If you sort out your own that will reduce the cost.

You receive £2k back on completion of line training (don't know if this is still the case).

The AQC is not just an MCC. The course includes a JOC on top of the MCC which is a week of manual jet flying which is a very good experience to have prior to starting a type rating.

As someone else mentioned, 90% or so of people selected for the AQC get through - they don't put you through from the interview unless they think you will pass it - all 16 on my course got through 18 months ago.

Bear in mind though that the contract is only for 6 months flying - there is no guarantee that you will be kept on after that - although almost everybody going to Easyjet and the like get permanent contracts.

Hey

Has anyone got any idea of what type of interview questions which may be asked during phase 3 of the ATP selection? Do you get many technical questions or are they mainly competency based questions?

Thanks in advance
Roy

Does anybody know if any 'oldies' have got through the CTC ATP scheme since they had to waive the age restriction?

I'm talking 35's and upwards.

Thanks,
GS

hi all

I was wondering about the ' first series passing on ifr and cpl ' requeriment. It's there a way to certify that? I did my tests about 12 years ago in spain. And there's nothing in my jaa licence that says wether or not i got first passes, so how can i certify that?
(by the way on that time it was not compulsory to write down flight times in a logbook in spain, so i did got it in the logbook either).

thanks in advance

Does anyone know this "professional pilot study loan" they can get for you to do the training... do you have to have "security" ie. a house to secure the money against?

Question ATP applications

Whats the story with the website, plenty of statements that the ATP programme is now open to applications, but when you click on the apply now icon you get a message saying they're not accepting any applications. Anyone shed some light on this?

E-mail them and ask might be a suggestion:

other wise they may of had too many in the time it has been open as with the below statement, or has that statement been their a while i.e when it was closed before hand?:

Thank you for your interest in applying for the CTC Wings ATP programme. Due to the large volume of applications that have recently been received, we have temporarily closed the website to new ATP applicants. We are therefore not currently accepting applications for the ATP programme at this time, but please monitor the website, as we will be accepting applications in the near future.

The message itself only went up yesterday. I checked in the morning and it didn't say anything like that, so I guess that too many people have applied and now they are in the process of selecting the wheat from the chaff.

I wonder how many people actually did apply in the end to it, and how long the wait in the hold pool might be at the other end now.

With Ryanair as a new partner, the wait won't be that long.

Is that true? Ryanair as a new partner airline? And would that mean employment with Ryanair or Brookfield?

Bambe - Where do you get your info from? Nothing was mentioned of RYR last week at the Stage 2 briefing!
