This is untrue as I have learned today. The MCC issued after AQC completion is a mutually recognized MCC.
Which goes to show how misleading PPRuNe posts can be. I suggest that anybody who wants facts on the scheme get their information from the website or contacts CTC and asks directly.

just wondering if anyone knew if there was a possibility of a job with jet republic through this scheme? They are currently doing the selection for captains so maybe that is why they have reopened the scheme?

The ballooning holding pool is being drained by people becoming Flexi Wings cadets. Be under no illusion about there being a permanent job at the end of summer. Flexi Wings is all about providing cheap co-pilot labour for the busy summer season allowing seasonal promotion of experienced FO's.

You paid for your CPL/IR frzn ATPL, MCC and Type Rating - now they want you to work for quarter the price for the summer with every intent of seeing you working in Burger King by Christmas. Nice industry. You really do wonder when Wannabes will actually stop being interested.

Some of you here (probably the most frustrated among all) tend to forget that today nobody can't get any job anywhere.
CTC has placed 104 cadets since january.
  • 34 were those left apart from EZY, Monarch and First choice after their 6 months line training... ALL now ON PERMANENT CONTRACT with either EZY Swiss, Aer LIngus, Tiger Air or Gulf Air.
  • 70 have just started their Line training with EZY...
Do what you want guys, listen to those frustrated people who just spend their nights and days bulshing on PPRuNe or take your chance with a company that, at the moment, is able to provide job to its students.

Good luck

Unfortunately this is completely wrong. A significant number of them are on "flexicrew" for this summer.

Flexi Wings is summer Work Experience.

Nothing more.

Lingus hiring for Gatwick was a bit of suprise, a one off and won't be repeated.

AND, I can absolutely assure you that NOT ALL of the 34 have been placed. Especially when you are quoting one of the specific airlines they were laid off by - get your facts straight. And they aren't on permanent contracts either.

Do what you want guys, listen to those frustrated people who just spend their nights and days bulshing on PPRuNe
You would be one of those 'frustrated people' then?

Most of the 34 have been placed but not ALL of the 34 have been placed. The AerLingus guys weren't placed either, they were selected the same way any other pilot was using the same selections. CTC I am sure however arranged the interviews or put their names forward which IS a good foot in the door. And most certainly aren't on permanent contracts.

I am not trying to have a go at CTC, I'm just trying to say, don't believe the hype. It wasn't ALL of the 34 and alot are not on permanent contracts. It is as good as it is going to get at the moment though.

Yes, but not on permanent contracts.

Many are on 'FlexiCrew' for this summer.

Well I seriously doubt they'd lie about something so obvious - maybe you are confused with the 2 x 757 ATP pilots that have yet to be placed? There were 36, 34 A320 (all placed) 2 B757 (yet to be placed).

To be honest I wouldn't have thought they would lie, they can't really.

Fair enough, I heard from a reliable source they hadn't and it is those 757 guys that I had heard were not placed. So that clears the confusion, thanks.

Some of the guys "placed" themselves though totally off their own backs. Does that really count as "placed"?

Right - let's stop this right now.

The ones that went to EZY Switzerland and Aer Lingus have full time positions.

There are still around 10-15+ cadets (ATP and Wings) who are going back to easyJet this summer on a flexicrew contract.

I am in no way confused, these are the facts. End of.

Sorry for the wording.

The guys with easyJet Switzerland and Aer Lingus have regular, full time, permanent, salaried, sector pay, pension, allowances etc. positions.

They are employed by the airline on regular direct entry pilot terms and conditions.

The ones going back (and, in one case, going for the first time) to easyJet are flexicrew.
