Even the pre September 11th 2001 schemes involved entry on a cadet level salary.
Other current schemes also include upfront payments and reduced entry level pay.

You pay one way or another.

There are many ways to cover the costs of offering a Sponsorship. Ultimately someone has to make the payments to the FTO. With full Sponsorships pre September 11th. The airlines recouped some of that training cost through reduced salary.

Please don't believe for a minute that 60k covers your costs of training into the RHS. Try double that figure at least.

CTC will do everything they can to secure jobs for all cadets. But yeh nobody is naive to the fact jobs are never guaranteed.

It is the risk that is taken by anyone self funding or Sponsored.

Just ask the BA cadets who were placed in the holding pool post September 11th.

Some cadets dont get "sponsored" at any stage. They go straight into the holding pool. Therefore Im not surprised it has been renamed the "ctc wings" scheme, instead of "ctc sponsored cadet scheme".

It does not cost £120k to get into the RHS. The modular route proves much much cheaper than that.

The actual direct cost of a modular route pre type rating does not cost anywhere near 120k off course.

The actual cost of the CTC training into the job role does.

The training isn't the final goal. Getting the job is.

Do you think the fATPL will get you a job automatically? How many fATPL's do you know? How many have jobs?

None, DIRECTLY. There are many ways, as already stated to incorporate this cost. There needs to be some security for CTC.

Dont really see where you have asked questions, as I defined what I think a sponsorship scheme is in a previous post.

This will be my last post on this topic. However I feel the debate that was initiated reveals a lot about the scheme to would be applicants.

The scheme is no longer a sponsorship scheme, the name relfects this.

It is a fast-track to the RHS, not "a fully funded" scheme as stated on the old website (they have ommitted this on the new website)

There are now four strands of students:

a) sponsored students - tcx.
b) pre-selected students - ezy.
c) self-sponsored students - whitetail.
d)cpl/IR students entering the ATP pool.

I do think it is a good scheme, with excellent training, and a great chance of the RHS in a jet.

However I am still angered at Easyjets decision.

I don't think many people ever clung to the idea that the Ctc scheme was a full sponsorship deal, if they've ever existed anyway. It provides a fast track to the rhs of a jet and esp with Easy a good chance of a quick command.

Even the old BA scheme wasn't a sponsorship deal, the cadets were on a reduced pay scale for years afterwards to pay for the scheme, whereas with Ctc the bond just gets paid back to you over the course of 7 years, plus most of the interest on that sum. Either way it works out the same in the end, you pay for your training, there's just a job at the end of it all. The cadet takes more of a risk, but hey that's life these days!

Anyone thinking of applying, do it and see how you go, there has been nothing better, that includes the old BA scheme

Easyjet Part Sponsorship

Hello all,
Just sent my application online for Easyjets part sponsorship cadet programme being done via CTC Wings. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this process. I went through a similiar process with Aer Lingus prior to 9/11 but that scuppered things, however the Aer Lingus one was a full sponsorship.
Hoping one of you may have some info for me regarding any aspect of the process.

easyJet CTC application form

I managed to get through the first round without a hitch, and this may sound silly but I'm looking for some advice on what should be the easiest question of all!

They ask why do you want to be a pilot, and I don't want to hit them with too many cliches and sound too much like a child in my enthusiasm.

Does anyone have any hints or tips as to how to impress?

Be yourself! Cliches aren't too bad and they are looking for evidence of a long term interest in aviation.

So if you have been interested in flying since you were a kid, say so.
