I got my rejection email, a bit of feedback for all as I have found this thread useful throughout the wait and feel it only right to give back.
I thought I had a pretty strong CV, I’m 34, not sure if that went against me but the way I view it is the USA just raised mandatory retirement age for aircrew to 67 and I feel it is only a matter of time before Europe follows. That gives 30 good years of employment after qualifying provided you can still obtain a medical. I do already have a class 1 medical, both EASA and UK CAA. I also have a good degree in Mechanical Engineering and have been working as an Engineer (non aviation) for 12 years. I also have a PPL / Night Rating and about 80 hours total time. Currently studying towards ATPL’s however have not sat any exams yet.
What let me down? In my opinion as no official feedback is given is the online testing. Like most I found the Verbal reasoning challenging, I do feel reading quickly is already a weakness of mine however the timer did seem very short for the number of questions. The other tests I think I probably performed average on. I took them while working away and not in the perfect environment which probably had an impact. Also it had been 10+ years since I had done psychometric testing; given the opportunity again I feel I could have done much better. I have since discovered online tools such as “Pilot Assessments” which allow us to practice, and by using this is how I have determined my performance as being average on the actual tests. I know I did make a few silly mistakes which I will learn from in the future.
For all of us who received the rejections don’t give up, each time we will improve and will eventually achieve our goals.
Best of luck to everyone who made it to the Assessment Centre, I hope you all enjoy the day and perform your best, getting the invitation is an excellent achievement in itself irrespective of the final outcome.

Candidates who score well in verbal reasoning have been proven to be the most successful in pilot training. The multitask test is also an important indicator and indicates how well you will do with instrument flying. You do need to be very sharp. This is based on experience of being involved in pilot hiring. You need to score well in both of these and keep in mind most applicants will likely not practice before hand, especially cadets.
A good way to get ahead is get a Class 1 medical. Anything in your medical history does get investigated and some common conditions will mean you cannot hold a Class 1 Medical - depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, migraines, alcohol or substance abuse history are complete disqualifications. There are many others which can mean months of referrals to get a medical. I saw too many unable to accept positions because they couldn't get a medical. If you lie you will lose your licenses and be jailed.

From previous years, it was a very long day a lot of waiting around. Started off with a group activity, broken up into groups of 6/8 and given a simple task (e.g lego) while being observed how you interact with the group. Then a panel discussion, groups of 4 in front of a few assessors. Given a topic and asked to debate it between us. Then certain people were asked to stay for interview after lunch. This was with a HR rep and pilot. Things may be very different this year with the use of the external HR company. One thing I do remember, if you don’t have any flying experience they didn’t expect much technical knowledge. Basic knowledge you would have if you really have an interest is what they seemed to expect.

Did anyone who attended the assessment centre in past years get an invite again to this year's AC? Best of luck to those attending! Nemoclown It was a great experience overall. Everyone from the airline was friendly and personable. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt to prepare as if you are being recruited for your first pilot job (lots of free resources online). Better to over-prepare than under-prepare as there are lots of great candidates and competition is indeed very high.

I don't think things will be different because of the HR company. Workable would not be involved in this stage they are just an ATS for pre screening

Future Pilot Assessment
Hi folks,
I was shortlisted to join the Aer Lingues assessment day on the 28th of September in Dublin. Is anyone who attended the assessment center in the past few years willing to share what we can expect?
I heard stories about Lego games, Towers of Marshmallows, and pasta, etc, etc...and also I heard that a SIM exercise with different scenarios will be given to the successful applicants (. if you pass the team games and the interview)
I am getting a little bit nervous because earlier this year I failed the group exercise with Wizz air,and Dublin is literally thousands of miles away.
Also is there are any other shortlisted females? Please let me know xxxx

Will be attending the Sep 28th assessment . If there are any Whatsapp groups etc being made, I'd love to join. Nothing wrong with a bit of networking beforehand I'm sure.
Also, ex RAF here. Any other vets that have applied, feel free to get in touch!

I am yet to hear back either way as well. I won't take everything on this forum as bond and hopefully will hear something any way soon.
