People need to stop overthinking this so much and just be patient. They have thousands of applications and probably only ten or so people filtering through them all, these things take time. I suspect by the end of next week everyone will know one way or another, in the meantime just focus yourself on preparing as much as you can for the next stage if you get there.

Hello, I applied on the 3rd of August. Got an invitation to the aptitude tests on the 8th and sat the tests on the 10th. Still no reply and patiently waiting. Good Luck to all!

Sorry to hear those who didnít make the cut this time. I know the pain.

I got to the Dublin stage prior to Covid and was heartbroken when I didnít make the cut for the afternoon interview.. there are so many people that apply, a lot of it is down to luck too.

The key to this journey is resilience. Keep at it. It will come!

What can we expect at Dublin assessment centre?

You didnít make the ďafternoon interviewĒ.. so you were rejected half way during the day?

People need to be booking flights, accommodation, annual leave.. they really should have everything finalised by mid next week latest if the first day is the 25th.

Donít get your hopes up. Rejection emails are still going out this week. I got mine today.
For context, Iíve applied twice previously and got through the assessment centre each time. I have flying experience (PPL, night rating) and have done some ATPL exams with UKCAA with a 90+ % pass mark.
So to reiterate the point, this is just a lucky dip. If you donít get through this time itís not the end of the world!

good luck to all those still in the running!

Correct, there are some candidates who donít make it to the interview stage at the assessment centre and are told to go home.
The set up is a bit like the X factor. Groups are told to go into the room and told their fate. You have to come out with a blank face not to give anything away.

Expect a group assessment, team assessment and if youíre lucky an interview. Some candidates will be randomly selected to do the online tests again to prove that there was no cheating.
hope that helps!

When did you do your ATPL exams? I've been told from numerous sources that ATPL's are the cutoff point. Essentially, you're overqualified for the cadetship. Ideally they look for people with a blank slate to be trained on the MPL program.

I could be wrong .. just from what I've been told.

As per the FAQs on the application page itís ok to have ATPLs completed. Holding a CPL/ATPL/MPL is what disqualifies you and thatís different to having exams completed

this is airline/cadetship dependant and is not true for all cadetships.

You could apply to TUI with ATPLs, and Aer Lingus also. Just not BA.

I only started them this year. Iím doing them distance learning so Iím half way through. But theyíre UK CAA, this programme would be Austro.
Iíve been through the assessment centre & interviews before and there were candidates there who had some ATPL exams. To be honest, the questions that they ask you, you need to have a pretty high level knowledge rather than just basic knowledge.

only from 25th to 29th at 0800, 36 spots each slot, was only about 50 taken when I was on! The email said to allow for 5 hours on the day, so there might be 2 groups per day

Just received an email invitation for the AC! . I booked my dates on their form, it is wise to book the flight to Dublin early or wait until they give us further info?
