Pilot CR, they're waiting to find out what training route easyJet will allocate them through the OAA scheme. Some have had to wait a really long time, I know a couple that have been waiting for news on their route for approx. 4/5 months.

Has anyone who has been told their "route" asked about loan guarantees? A while ago it was mooted that they might be available for "exceptional" candidates (exceptional undefined) but then it all went quiet.

Has anyone applied to CTC with Scottish qualifications? On application they ask for GCSE's including English at C and above. I have a Scottish Standard Grade in English at grade 3 while the rest are 2.

I was asked/told if I had more qualifications (?) and that I'd need a Grade 2 but surely they could have declined my initial application rather than allow me to sit the technical?

I know competition is fierce so they can pick off anyone for anything but just wondered if anyone else is in the same boat or had that experience?

(I have other English/Communication units that form part of another qualification so it's not like I just have this one English grade)

PPJN sates 43942 for UK contracts for SO, is this the flexicrew contract given via CTC?

This is subject to change over the next year/18 months. I believe that easyJet's plan is to phase out flexicrew - however nothing is set in stone.

Flexi crew is very likely to be removed by time you would start.

In that case you would be employed on a second officer contract for 2 years, salary similar to that stated on pilot jobs network.

Very good news if it happens. If Easy ditched Flexicrew and offered loan guarantees their schemes would be a much more appealing option for many cadets

Or, if even better, they emulated Aer Lingus and paid for the entire training up-front. Nontheless, I'd say that loan guarantees for all cadets would be decent enough to get a lot of people interested. It would also put pressure on some other airlines to do the same I reckon.

Good news if Flexicrew is indeed going, however that is only a rumour at this point.

Wouldn't say a rumour. This was said by EasyJet HR at stage 3.

So after applying in October, and doing stage 3 in December I was told I was successful for one of the 3 tagged easyjet routes. However today I recieved a phone call from OAA saying easyJet have changed the boundaries for agreeing to tag cadets, and that all they can offer is route 4 or suggest I reapply in 6 months... the most annoying part is that they are saying what I've now not passed on was a personality questionare, done way before the main assessment day. Why bother leading us on for so long? Sorry to sound so bitter but if you don't laugh you'd cry!

Guys, anyone know when CTC will be reopening their MPL scheme for 2017? Previously it was June 2016...

Same for me, they said to me that it would be the case with 50 % of the people who passed stage 3. I waited for 6 months, paid the fees and 2 trips to Oxford, quit my job waiting for a date to start training, and now they call me saying "wonderful, we can offer you route 4". But route 4 is a whitetail program and has nothing to do with easyJet. It's an absolute scandal. I think it qualifies as a deceit. Obviously I will not accept the whitetail program. I have no more comment to make.

Route 2

Hi Guys, I know it's been asked before but does anyone know any more about the standards to get onto MPL via route 2. CTC and easyjet are incredible vague with this. Hoping by now possibly some current students have some better intel? Thanks in advance.

Mine was a good faith question, i simply wanted to know if anyone who has started has heard anything about standards for MPL. I'm well aware they may change, and I'm well aware there's a decent chance of there not being being g any chance of an MPL at all.

I do believe that there are jobs at the end of it. If there aren't, i have a backup plan.

You seem very bitter. If it is such a bad scheme then please count yourself lucky at being rejected.

I have to agree with the frustration. It's a fantastic programme if it works as planned but for some of us it hasn't. Been waiting months with false hope! Oxford have tried to tell me that Route 4 is still part of Generation easyJet but please understand that's it's not should you end up being offered it.

Did OAA apologise to you? I've had no such apology, unfortunately just a take it or leave it attitude... which after like yourself travelling far to come for assessment, taking unpaid leave from work to be able to attend, has been far from a pleasant experience!

The fact that they are being vague about Route 2 should in itself send out warning signs. If they are asking you to commit a six figure sum to your training but won't commit to telling you what your chances of proceeding down a certain training path, that really doesn't show them in a good light.

My advice, wait for Aer Lingus, which should open in a couple of months, or even for Virgin Atlantic which generally comes alive around November.

Well intially it was as you say ... that's what it is we're giving you and here's why (the PQ sent to us before we ever did any assessment).

I followed it up though and expressed my disappointment and confusion at how things were run ... then I was given a detailed explanation of what had happened and OAA acknowledged that it wasn't right and issued me an apology.
