Aviation in Turkey - Jobs for Newbies? Saturation or ease?
Dear friends,
Well I hope the title pretty much explains what am I seeking. I have searched on the internet Turkey have more than 14 airlines and half of them have fleet size more than 100. The country have significant aviation industry mainly because of it's location on crossroads of Asia and Europe. I am not a Turkish citizen but recent laws have eased the immigration policy for the foreigners who wish to invest an amount of money in Turkey and they are given a residence permit thus enabling pretty much anyone who wishes to be legally immigrated.
Now the question; Is the aviation industry in Turkey saturated or there are some ease factors. Having a grown up (or still growing very fastly) aviation industry with many airlines and fleets compared to the other nations of the region is it easier to get a job over there or is same as any other country with only 1 airline ready to employ pilots with a basic Frozen ATPL at 200 or 250 hours of flight time?
Are there any options for pilots (newly graduated) technically without any exceptional experience to get employed in Turkey? Or the market is very much saturated and new pilots have no luck? This is the main question if anyone can answer ! And if the answer is yes then which are the airlines or organizations who are ready to hire people with low experience.
NOTE: Are there any charter companies who hire pilots with low experience for charter works?
I wish to get very helpful answers and information on this forum as this is one of the best forums of its type related and dedicated to world of aviation.

Well, aviation market is growing fast in Turkey as you said.
Pegasus and Turkish Airlines, each ordered around 100 jets.
That means they need, at least for Turkish Airlines, 600 pilots each year to be employed for coming next 3 years. I do not know if number 600 is a real number but thats what the head of the company said.
If you dont have experience on the type, they will ask you to get your type rating with them and which is around 30 000 euros. There are some bad stories which people are not hired after paying for their type ratings. I do not think that will happen because they really need pilots nowadays but I still can not say it wont happen again.
Another point for you, according to law, they can only have 1 foreign pilot for each 10 Turkish pilot. You might have a better chance if you become a Turkish citizen.

Without a turkish citizenship it's difficult to get a permanent contract. Some dodgy airlines may sell you some line training but without a type rating, I wouldn't hold my breath.
The only company I've heard of taking non-local FOs without experience is sun express, but they only hire from one contracted ab-initio school somewhere in Europe.
Most airlines (incl the authority) are pretty dodgy, therefor a stream of turkish local pilots headed for the sandpit has started to gain width and speed.
Depending on the economy of course, we might soon see low houred people get hired there.

As it appears that being a Turkish citizen will be much more favourable..
So now i am wondering what is the way to become a Turkish citizen then??
I plan to join a flight academy in Istanbul to first of all get my license converted in Turkish License then later try and see what are possible options.
So as the answers suggest; only airlines hire and mostly hire turkish citizens; but it is not impossible for a non turkish to get a job but it can be difficult and waiting...
there are no commercial charter companies who can offer some job?
regards
