Response from CTC Aviation

I am in Africa and i have been invited for the Southampton interview. However, considering the distance, i do not know whether Qatar Airways will cater for my ticket because its quite costly from here Kenya. It costs about 1000 British Pounds!! they have also asked me to pay 245 pounds which to me is quite unaffordable. What do i do now that am so interested in this opportunity? the following was their response after submitting my high school certificate.

Thank you for submitting an online application form for the Qatar Wings programme.

The selection team have reviewed your application against the profile of the applicants we seek and we are pleased to advise you that you have been accepted for the next stage of selection. Congratulations!

The majority of our assessment events take place at Crew Resourcing Centre - Dibden Manor, near Southampton. The Qatar Wings selection process is a one day event, which has been divided into a morning assessment and afternoon interview. Your report time for this assessment will be 0815 for a prompt 0830 start.

The morning session consists of an introduction by CTC providing you with further detail about the assessment process, followed by a question and answer session. You will then be asked to complete a set of computer based aptitude tests designed to predict your ability to learn to fly and you will undertake a numeracy test. In order to assess your interpersonal and team working skills there are group activities.

During lunch there will be an opportunity for you to meet with a member of the Pilot Careers Advisor team who will be able to talk you through the process you will undertake once you have received your assessment result, as well as the chance to ask specific questions about the programme.
After lunch you will have an airline standard interview with one of the HR assessors. This will last 30 minutes & you will be free to leave once this has been conducted.

Your assessment results will be emailed the following working day and you will also receive a phone-call from the Pilot Career Adviser Team to discuss next steps.

Due to the constraints of this busy schedule, we will be unable to offer you any face to face or written feedback on your performance

In preparation for interviews, please complete and return, by email to [email protected], the questions that are attached to this email. Please ensure that they are completed and emailed at least one week before your assessment date. You will not be able to attend if these have not been completed.

To book yourself a place on the next assessment event you need to log back into your application and create a booking using the links on the right hand side of the screen.

We release assessment dates approx. every 7-10 days on a rolling basis. Typically cadet assessments take place each week so you if you are unable to attend the dates currently published, please return to your application and continue to check each week.

Payment of the selection fee is made at time of booking.

The selection fee is £245 (inclusive VAT) and can be made by credit/debit card via the PayPal online payment system. Please follow the links when you log back into your online application

We should emphasise that as you are applying to the CTC Qatar Wings programme you are required to bring the originals AND copies of:
your education certificates
your passport
a passport photo
***Failure to bring along the above documentation with you will prevent you from progressing to the afternoon interview.***

Please note that the period of validity for selection is 6 months and we require all successful applicants to book on to a training programme within this time frame. It may be necessary to repeat selection if you do not book your training within this time frame.

If your plans change and you are unable to attend for any reason, please email us at [email protected] or ring us on 02380 844000, option 2, as early as possible, so we can either reorganise the date you attend or withdraw you from the application process. Non-attendance without reason will unfortunately mean that we will withdraw your application form.

Dress code: Candidates normally wear a suit for this phase of selection.

Regards,

CTC Aviation Selection...

planedrive

1, I am already flying and been working for Qatar Airways for 6 years. 3 years flying in the UK before moving to the Middle East.

2, I asked a simple question looking for a simple answer as I am not very familiar with the CTC Qatar Wings programme

Back to my original question, can anyone please take the time to either post or PM me the link for the Qatar CTC Wings program.

If you had clicked the link I posted you would have arrived at the exact same page as sentinel posted... I'm not really sure what your flying history has to do with that?

Good luck in the process

Primarily you need to look at the CTC selection in which there's an abundance of information on here under the CTC wings thread. Additionally, I believe there is a thread on Qatar wings on here too. Furthermore, look at CTC wings cadets blogs which can be found easily on google where there's also some good info about selection.

123essame,what I'd suggest is learn about the selection from different sources including the ctc website,I believe they have an online leaflet on it.
But here's the thing, most people learn about it and get scared.
I say don't be too scared,if you think it's easy,it will be easy.Just be assertive and confident, which are the two main things. They want to see a positive, motivational and very engaging personality in you.
For pilot aptitude test preparation I'd suggest using skytest,it's not very hard.
Interview is what most people are scared of and it's there where you need to show them a personality that is excellent to be around in a flight deck for a 12 hour flight.
Team exercise is also kind of around this.Be confident,be nice(this is important) be nice but engaging and really focused on the task.Basically be a people's person.
If any of this made sense to you, good luck

Can I get a rough idea on how long will it take for CTC Qatar Wings to reply for Phase 1 Application Assessment ? I put in my application late may. And what are the chances they take you through phase 1.

Hi, found your post in the forum about your joining to Qatar wings. I am going to do the same, but I am hesitating. Can you share your opinion about the advantages and disadvantages of the program.

I'm surprised and concerned that many of those here claiming to have committed to this course are brand new to pprune. Perhaps you prefer to read rather than post (good habit) but have you done due diligence either about expat life in ME and Qatar specifically, and also about P2F generally? There can be serious pitfalls on both counts and you are being asked to commit a very large sum.
