How & where to do Time Building.

Hello

I am FAA & INDIAN DGCA CPL holder . I wanted to know where in world I will be able to build my flying hours. I wont even mind flying single engine small aircrafts to smaller jets like VLJ. I believe there is more scope of getting single engine time rather than VLJ or multi engine since i've done actual flying on Single & some on MULTI. Please help me out. The only thing i'm nt intrested is CFI.

Some thing like traffic patrolling, or taking tourist over tourist spots that what they do in CARRIBEAN & AFRICA.

Any information please let me know.

Isn't your DGCA in the process of kicking out all expat pilots? If so there should be loads of jobs right on your doorstep.

DGCA is _____ & need to build atleast 3-400 hrs.

well honestly DGCA themselves dont know what they are upto. This rule is supposed to be there & be applied by the end of this year but looking at the scenarioit doesnt feel so. & even then when there is an opening for e.g for the post of 40 pilots there are 2000 applicants. Without a doubt there is lot of curruption.

That why I was thinking of getting 300 to 400 hrs so that I will be able to convert my CPL to ATPL(F). Because minimum requirement for the application of exams is 500hrs.

Please fellow aviators help me with more ideas!

Hey guys

very nice flaming on the kid.

Some of you are lucky to be born in countries where equal opportunities are a common thing, but sadly some of us come from banana countries.
Sadly we can't choose where we are born, and we are not at fault of the stupid rules our country makes.

In Spain it's very difficult to fin a job for any non-Spaniard, yet some of us have been able to start a career thanks to the opportunities we got in other countries due to this equal-opportunity philosophy.
I think that doesn't give the right to anyone to come and flame me when I ask something here.

I didn't choose the country where I was born. This is the same as if you blame someone for a murder his father made.

Especially for Indian kids it's going to be hard(er) because there are way too many coming out of schools. Same as happened in Spain that in a matter of 3-4 years there were 4000 freshly licensed but unemployed pilots (for a total of 12000 licenses, 33% unemployment)

Please guys be a little bit more respectful. If you don't have anything constructive to say just STFU and have some respect for the people that is trying to find a break in this difficult moments.

Well Mr. 310 to be honest FI job in india is not good. There is not much you can do over here. Because Flight school are busy taking money from students & allowing them for fake logging of hours instead of actual flying which is quite disheartning! & in US most of the school & FI were making merry because of lot of indian students going there. But nowthe number of indian students which were going there have reduced dramatically.
Morever the US also requires working visa. Which they dont allow just to anyone.

Thanks a lot MR. PABLO. For suppoting me. I'd be really pleased if someone comes with b8r ideas.

I also wont mind working on bare minimum salary. Even though it is just enough for my survival in that place. I can take care of tickets to & fro from that place.

Time Building

Hey Pushkraj!! Well bro i am sailing the same boat you are in. Well i suggest you look at charter operations in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania and a few other countries in Africa. They do hire pilots with low-times but you have to bang their doors. Its not gonna happen over the internet or telephone... If you need to share some info plzzzz PM me.

Hi guys,

I was sailing in that same boat too for almost 4 years, but if you persist eventually you get lucky.

I would say go for instructing if you can afford the rating, especially in the USA. It can be a bit better a bit worse, but there are always openings for CFIs. The problem is getting a working visa, which is not easy.

For India... I don't know the situation, but you must look around nevertheless. In Spain most schools aren't that good, but there are 2-3 that are really nice to work for.

Then... about Africa Ops... there's a bunch of fellow aviators that are very willing to share info, etc.. about it, so if you can afford it... book a ticket for the training season and knock doors.

Nevertheless... don't overlook the option of working as ground staff in an airline. In some of them it's a good way to move into a cockpit, in others might not, but at least you have a job in the industry which is always good.

In any case.. best of luck and don't stop calling and looking for things. Eventually something comes up for those who persist.

As mentioned by you the working visa is very difficult to get & also at times the hour building can be very slow. But I've seen CFI's flying at times 100 hrs a month. But still working visa is big hurdle!

Even working in an airline as ground job is very good. Since you make lot of contacts & you are still in the aviation industry.

I wud be gr8 if you have any contacts or friends working in AFRICA. with some charter airline etc etc.

As far as ABHI 88 is concerned CUM was shortform of COME!!

Hey Pushkraj,

One thing that might work in Africa is working for MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowhip)

The only thing that doesn't work for me is that I'm not religious...
They are always looking for new pilots and it seems like a great community to work in.

MAF pilots require atleast 500hours total time to fly their airplanes!!! Probably becoz God doesnt pay out if the pilot fcuks up!!!

Well I just looked on there website and they do have a "low houred pilot scheme" though you won't get paid, and your going to have to pay expenses of 1000 dollars or more each month as it says on the website, so I wouldn't really consider this as a job, rather as a course... But if your willing to pay, I don't see why not, go and get some hours and try to come out of the reccession.
