I know its not any of my business. But why on earth would you want to convert from GCAA to JAA especially if you obtain it from the likes of etihad, you're probably going to have more money and a relaxed lifestyle working in the middle east.
Anyways with regards to your question, I think you have to take the 14 groundschool exams and re-take the IR test and also demonstrate your competency on the aircraft you are type rated on

Thank you for the reply.
I was mearly interested on what it would take to change back. You never know what circumstances may arise. So I think it is wise to consider my options.

Yeah, let's not lose hope. As you might have seen that from the begining there were people posting strange statements and we found that some were even not reading the articles carefully. As there is a national scheme as well, so we presume that the intake which these people are talking about should be the inhouse one, and then the global one must come out. Although we can expect delays.

In my opinion No because it may almost work against you, in the sense that they have already clearly outlined what they require from you. By giving them a cover letter etc they may perceive you as one who cannot follow simple instructions i.e. attach CV ( and that was all they required, unless ofcourse you have a medical certificate etc)

Why not send the lot?
Class 1, Basic disclosure, logbook, cv and covering letter? Personally I would only ever send what is requested. People are always very busy and will not like having to trawl thru' lots of bits of info to get what they need

no..
Do as it asks.
You are already filling in an online form and are just attaching the CV to go with it (mainly to show your interests and eduation aspect I suspect) so do that... imho.
I am going to be attaching a CV and a medical cert.

Hey, to be honest I attached one. Why not?
Look at the large magnitude of applications they are getting. Anything that shows them that you are willing to go 'above and beyond' I think you should. Maybe that the cover letter will separate your file from the rest. The way I see it is it will show how interested you are, and with many of us having little or no experience in Aviation, the cover letter will probably tell a 'tale' of how and why you want to enter the field of aviation and fly for Etihad. (And maybe perhaps that you can write English.)

I should also add to the above note that, they probably won't spend more then a minute reviewing your application. As someone in the previous post said they might just like your name and give your application more time over someone else.
The thing that I can't seem to understand is HOW you shortlist for a position like this with so many applicants and so little requirements. i.e. 18-26, medically fit, high-school diploma...

Well, in the major factors of the creteria they have stated that 18-26; that's fine and then "medicaly fit" which means we have to upload our medical certificate too and at last "...diploma with proven high grades in maths and physics", Does it mean we have to upload our transcripts at these stages of the applications as well?
And SF, I have pasted some info regarding my background in this thread, so tell me what's your impression.
