Penny

I say go for Penny too. Expect to get a tough time and walk out with a hugely structured agenda and a small ego! I was 'mullered', but it was completely worth it. Best wishes and good luck L E!

@ hotelmodemetar

You might think it is useless psychological talk. I was a little sceptical myself. Penny does magic. If you want to improve your interview skills. Visit her.

Yes, I do believe you, but can you tell us what things you have learnt/improved thanks to her ?
I successfully passed my interviews by previously gathering some nice information with Google, on the internet, it is a cheap and efficient way to prepare yourself for an interview, I mean it !

If the interviewer says "Where do you see yourself in 6 months time?", dont say "In bed with your missus"

Don´t **** yourself in the interview room. Was interviewing somone myself (not for a flying job) when such an occurance occured. All as going fine until the guy suddenly jumped out of his seat and made for the door, unfortunately he didnt make it in time. He had apparently had food poisoning , but didn´t want to miss the interview. Needless to say he didn´t get the job, plus I had to make them put a new carpet in my office.
Ive heard of "****ting yourself" about an interview, but that took the buscuit.

That honest-to-god just about happened to me in the Cathay Pacific simulator, I engaged in some of Hong Kong's more interesting street market cuisine the day before, spent half the night on the pan in the hotel room, and I was absolutely writhing in agony for the entire sim ride

( I didn't get the job either )

Don't lean back on the chair (despite already being asked not to) so far back that you end up sitting on the floor in a pile of broken chair bits. I got a job once because the only other interviewee did just this.

However, he was the lucky one 'cos the job was pants. I left after 6 months!

On a more serious note... ?!

Preparation is the name of the game in my book:

Tip 1: Learn about yourself - I read several books from the library about interview techniques etc and prepared a 14 page summary of my life and times (boring!). Whatever job you're going for the Q&As must, by definition be similar. So know yourself, then you will never be caught out with 'strengths and weaknesses' type questions.

Tip 2: Learn about the airline - who's who, fleet, press releases, routes (you know what I mean)

Tip 3: Learn about the job - technical questions and flying generally (Flying the Big Jets is good for a start)

Tip 4: Interview - stay cool, relaxed. Treat it as a 'business' meeting rather than an 'interview'. You might be desperate for a job, but try to come across professionally. Attitude is as important as knowledge at this stage if you want to succeed.

Tip 5: Don't get pissed with cabin crew the night before and go to bed a 3am when you have a 9am interview. I did this once. I got the job because when I was asked 'what do you think about cabin crew', I answered honestly and said: 'I thought they were great, an integral part of the team - so much so I got pissed with some last night!' Luckily the intereviewer appreciated that and I got the job! A risk I wouldn't advise you to take (I had weighed up the interviewer and realised he was 'one of the lads'?!).

Tip 6: Is there one?

lol

Best of luck

There was a study somewhere that sex before an interview does increase your performance as it relaxes you by releasing a certain hormone into your system! knocking one off could be the lo-co's version!
