Am I burned?
In a lot of threads here I read about how important your past education is when it comes to get a job.
Because of problems in school since I first started , I just havent been the best student. It is not that I wasn´t interrested but more because of kids found it entertaining to pick on me all the time! So school for me was more like a torture chamber. And when I was in it I could not think of anything else than getting out of there!
I started to work instead of finishing my education when I was 17 and did continue to work until I was 21. Then I started my flight training.
Under my flight training I havent found any big troubles when it comes to learning and understanding. The ATPL exams did work out much better than I expected (First time pass in all tests).
I have a burning interrest in aviation since my early childhood and would not want to do anything else for a living than flying.
I am willing to take any job if it involves flying so I am not picky. As long as I am allowed to fly and get enough money to make my living I am very satisfied regardless of what or where I fly.
So what do you think? Am I burned because the problems I faced in school when i was younger and the impact it had on my grades?

yes, you are burned.
go find the highest bridge in you area, and jump!!!
we have many many very good students, who are turned down, even for a mac donald position.
it is a high competitive market, only the best will survive.
I have several degrees, University, polytechnic in aviation. I have workeded for airbus in the design of the wing for the A380, and I can not find a job even on a cessna 150.

No you're not. Smaller operators are not interested in high school grades. If you're applying to (British in particular 
) larger operators they tend to be very interested in you A-levels (still haven't figured out what they are). As long as you got your licence you shoul be ok for most operators!

Well, if you feel that this is going to set you back then consider this, you do live in Sweden which has one of the most generous schooling sytems on the planet, take advantage of it and complete whatever subjects you have left. You are still young and have plenty of time to get a job.

in answer to your question i dont think airlines recruit 13yr old who make up there qualifications at the mo, if having these degrees behind him, where does he find the time to sit on the comp making smart ar*ed comments all the time!

If A320 has over 2000hrs, loads of jet time, TR's, a whole bunch of degrees including Aviation related ones, and designed the wing of the A380, and cant find a job, Really what chance do you mere mortals have of getting one, as a matter of fact I think I should just give up mine and jump off that bridge he spoke about.

well if you haven't finished off (gotten G) 80% of the 2500 "gymnasiepoäng" it might be a little harder but those grades can easily be fixed 3-4 months, even if you got extra university scores in fashion design or guitar history, employers won't care

No you are not burned, there is alot more to aviation than Airlines, Biz-jet aviation is alot more rewarding and interesting, and pays just as well. It is also growing at a rate far exceeding that of commercial aviation. I would however recommend that you try and do those subjects, it will open the Airline market to you.

High School
I`ve no formal qualifications from high school, but after getting bored milking cows for 10 years and deciding that I wanted to fly aeroplanes I got my licence and then worked hard at getting a job. Showing my face, pestering folk, looking enthusiastic etc until I got my first job.

I think the older you get, the less your high school grades are going to matter. I can't remember a single job interview, aviation or otherwise, where my highschool grades ever came up.(lucky me!!!!)

I want to start my atpl at 34!!!
I have called an Italian school the answer was " you are too old, forget it"
I have called a UK school :" fine no rpoblem, you are ok, but only on turbo props , company with these planes likes older guys cos they dont leave, but you will ber cut off from bigger jet machines"
What do you think guys, am I burned?

you are not burned but you will find that the truth about employment leans more to A320rider than with others. The VAST majority of FATPL holders gradually drift off to other avenues in life. Thankfully for the vested interests(airlines, approved course providers etc...) those who give up do so quietly and discretely and do not attract attention to the grim reality or their "failure". A320's posts bear the marks of one who will not go quietly.....just cos he doesn't say what you want to hear does not make him wrong.
That said you can get there just dont give up the day job or close your eyes to other opportunities.
I've had some real useless twats get work and competant pilots take 5years to get a break. I have no respect for airline recruitment that puts cv presentation over practical flying skill. When you have seen their procedures select 3 subsequent failures on the type rating course you have to wonder if they wouldn't be better doin a few circuits in a little plane rather than applying psy tests and choosing the smoothies who cant fly!
Dont take rejections personally as the industry is so bizarre that you should do your best whilst sort of not taking it seriously in a way!
