DHL Low Hour Pilot
Is there any chance of DHl recruiting low hour pilots in the next 4 years?
Do they recruit pilots with
FRZN ATPL, 200TT,IR,MCC
Would there be a chance of attaining a job with DHL with the above?

in short ..... NO !!
i worked for them a few months ago,not flying though. the word is, they took a few low houred guys on towards the end of last year who really battled on the TR course and they decided to stop taking low houred guys without TR's.
also, its worth noting that they have about 3 guys in Ops up at EMA who have fATPL's .... no second guesses at to who they will choose if they do take low houred guys in the next few years !

A genuine and very serious warning regarding your enthusiasm for such a company.
Please use our search facilty to find out for yourselves the hole you'd be digging for yourselves regarding flying hours even if such an opportunity should present itself.
This is no criticism of a company like DHL or the equipment they fly. No matter how attractive the company, the training, and the idea of a big jet are to you the glacial annual total of flying hours versus duty hours worked will hinder your career.
Please don't believe me - go and find out for yourselves.

I got some mates at DHL. One is a low houred pilot. He loves the job but as Rob says, the hours are slow to come by.
He's averaging 3-400 hours a year. Since you need 1500 hours to get an ATPL, that's a few years down the track.

That said the fact remains that I work 15-20 days a month and do 250 hours a year, its ok for me I don't really need the hours but its not a great place for the LEPs to build hours.

Are there any such openings?

There was one low hour pilot who did have trouble in the sim on the initial and recurrent details. They eventually got rid of the individual. Capts were reporting that the person was dangerous to fly with.
All the other low houred pilots were outstanding from what I heard. I did sit in with a couple of them when they had to do their circuits in the 757. They were spot on.
The trouble DHL have had recently is that a few of the low houred guys have moved on in less than 18 months service. They were told at interview that they would not build hours quickly. That obviously went in one ear and out t'other. Dont blame them-a chance of a job and a 757 on their licence. Perhaps the night work didnt agree with them. Perhaps they are searching for the glory. What glory. Its just a myth.

..and a lot of pilots commanding bright yellow parcel vans around europe .. I am one of them :-( .. however I have been off for a bit playing in a 733 sim at STO .. now that's more fun :-)

I joined DHL with 1000 hours total time, but I had 800 on the B757 already in that total.
I joined near the beginning, rose to the top 10 of the FO list, but moved on as I could not see any future in 250 hours a year for my career.
I loved the job though. that said, it is even better as a Captain than an FO in a constant two man operation.......
Now back flying for a major charter carrier on a different type.....
DHL is a good job in a tough industry, but don't expect miracles.
