Apparently they offer two options via the two contracting agencies - either 'worldwide', where you tell them when you want to work, and they either use you or not. Or fixed roster (21 on/14 off, or 24 on/12 off), which is fixed for the next 12 months. In the latter case you know how much you're going to get paid even if you're sat in the hotel not being used. In either case, the pay is about 500 usd per day 'on base', which is probably the lowest paid 747 captain salary in the market. Around 8000 usd per month. Other players pay up to double that, with benefits.

Hello, how did your assessment go? I'm particularly interested in the company and working conditions. I've been invited for next month, but I don't know much about the company, and I have doubts about whether it's the best fit for me. Do you have any information about working conditions, etc.? I'm interested in recent insights. Thank you.

Hey Pedromari,
I recently had an assessment with Air Atlanta for NTR747 FO position. Therefore I can give you a quick feedback.
It was 6 of us out of which 4 were super experienced 50+ guys working at legacy airlines for the past 30-35 years at least. Very pleasant atmosphere, all starting with a quick company review. They are looking for 70 new pilots at the moment, and moving all 747 out of passenger operation and use them purely for cargo. Next 23 ATPL questions, very basic ones, we had 30 minutes to complete. Followed by SIM on a FNPT 737 NG. Session was 30 min PF and 30 min PM. They are looking for good CRM other than flying skills. Task was to fly out raw data SID from MUC, chasing some radials, ILS approach, no failure, no GA. And finally personal interview, which is a friendly chat about you and the company. Results will received same day.
Two contracts available. Fix roaster which is not usually offered immediately: 3 ON 2 OFF, and WW (worldwide) which is basically you tell them when you're available and they decide if they use you or not. No base salary, you only get paid when you're at base, being positioned to base and from base, and when on duty. No fix base basically but they operate many flights from Jeddah. You will be staying in 4-5 star hotels, and get per diems of 75USD/day on top of daily rate which is depending on your experience which is around 300 USD below 5000 hrs for FO.
Some pages earlier you will find a quite detailed explanation about the company and their operation.
Good luck!

However, I am still contemplating whether I should attend or not. The idea of not having a minimum guaranteed monthly salary doesn't convince me. If you are on the 3/2 roster, do you also not have it, or is it only for the worldwide option? In my case, being a profile with less than 5000 hours, I would fall into the rates you describe. Then, we'll have to see how much is left after taxes. They also don't provide an average number of days you might be operating normally, do they?
Another thing that doesn't convince me is the type rating bond. According to the information they sent me, it's 18k with the bond, and without it, it's 23k. But I asked an independent company for the type rating cost, and they told me it's 18k, so it seems like they want to charge you an extra 5k or bind you for several years.
How did it go for you? Did you pass the assessment? Or what do you think of the conditions?

Some guys were applied to 777 fleet, while others were looking for a job which gives them the freedom to choose when they work, therefore for them WW contract seemed to be a blessing after flying for decades.
My understanding is that nothing is really guaranteed. In case of 3/2 contract you only get paid the days you work and when you're being positioned. Of course operational needs can overwrite everything. But If anybody out here reading this working for AAI please confirm.
Regarding the bond 500 USD deducted from fees each month and 12K is forgiven if you remain with company for 3 years. Although contract is to be renewed yearly. So basically it is 18K as you said. Other option is deposit upfront of 15K and remaining 8K to be paid over 12 month. Adding up a total of 23K for the TR.
I would suggest to try reaching out for pilots working there to make your decision easier. I believe there are pilots out there for whom this job is a perfect match, and a great opportunity to gain heavy hours and long haul operational experience. Unfortunately they decided to proceed with other candidate(s).

Is AAI getting more B777?
Recruitment still going on for B777.
Now they mention a fixed payment after OCC completed. Is that meaning you're getting a minimum fixed pay every month regardless if you work or not?

I am sick of it ! I always spend hours and hours to write down, paint, screenshots, video record and so on... does one of you do the same after the interview ? or send me a update (that's the minimum !!!!)
I got only stupid comments (talk stupid and publish nothing)

> a FO should be able to handle his own postbox before he handle a big machinery !

Hello!
Just an update regarding the selection process. I did the assessment this month.
1st - quick introduction from chief pilot and then ATPL test (23 questions, 20 ATPL+3 simple maths questions)
2nd - non-technical interview with chief pilot and HR person
3rd - sim session (B737NG fixed) out of MUC, no SID, just turn to hdg xxx, intercept radial yyy to VOR, exit on radial zzz and then ILS approach. No automation whatsoever, all manual flying, raw data.
Regarding the ATPL questions, they apparently vary wildly from assessment to assessment. I didn't get any of the ones mentioned here, but they are all day-to-day operational questions, nothing much.
Good luck everyone!

I'm guessing no one will want to publicly talk about what their offer was...
The information I got from the broker was a range from 350 to 375 USD for FOs, and 465-515 for CPTs.
All the best!

I have to say I am absolutely astounded at the appalling low salary on offer. I appreciate that this is contract work and with limited job security which by definition should be better rewarded. I mean no disrespect to those who apply or take these jobs but the money for wide body crew is really derisory. It’s where we’re at I suppose.

Air Atlanta only really works if you're a retired KLM or Lufthansa captain on a king's ransom pension and/or have a business on the side that pulls in loads of money and requires your time.
Then you can do the 'worldwide' contract where you tell Air Atlanta when you can be bothered to roll of out of bed and do a spot of flying, because you miss the craic, and the adventure.
Otherwise, steer well clear, and don't bother. The money is sh!te. It's about half of what it should be in terms of pay, like the poster above said.

Questions over Questions
Anyone who is flying there as kind as to shed some light at some things:
- hotel standart on/off base? Which hotel in JED
-flight from home to/from duty - which airline, eco or C?
-colleagues (especially on the 777)
thanks a million in advance!
PS: anyone attending the assessment in March? PN

Anyone who is flying there as kind as to shed some light at some things:
- hotel standart on/off base? Which hotel in JED
In JED it is Crowne Plaza (al Hamra disctrict), which is like a second home and is good. Down the route all hotac are good, you won't see a backpaker's vomit express.
-flight from home to/from duty - which airline, eco or C?
Whenever possible, you operate or deadhead onboard own freighters. Othwerwise saudia network, emirates, egyptair, turkish etc. All economy.
-colleagues (especially on the 777)
Generally good, with some drama amongst just retired ones, used to be treated like princesses. Bitching to colleagues at breakfast does not help, bringing it to management usually does (unless it's a broken fingernail or toilet paper is too rough).
