Just an update regarding the selection process. I did the assessment this month.
1st - quick introduction from chief pilot and then ATPL test (23 questions, 20 ATPL+3 simple maths questions)
2nd - non-technical interview with chief pilot and HR person
3rd - sim session (B737NG fixed) out of MUC, no SID, just turn to hdg xxx, intercept radial yyy to VOR, exit on radial zzz and then ILS approach. No automation whatsoever, all manual flying, raw data.
Regarding the ATPL questions, they apparently vary wildly from assessment to assessment. I didn't get any of the ones mentioned here, but they are all day-to-day operational questions, nothing much.
