Titan is the lessor
The airplanes that are leased to GSS will be leased through Titan. That's why they exist. As far as the following -8s, whoever finds customers first will get the next ones (Atlas or Titan).

From the company 19 747-400's and 4 classics; although they are operating seven right now. They didn't give a time frame on the parkings but I can only assume it's with the result of the furloughs. These numbers DO NOT include the 400's flying for AABO but the total 400 fleet is Polar and Atlas combined.

I was thinking the same thing. I think everybody is in a state of shock on both sides. I honestly did not think that it would happen, but the political pressure must have reached critical mass.

Apparently, AABO pilots were terminated effective this month. I was told this personally by one of the pilots that dead headed on my leg.
I am a new pilot, 15 months, at Atlas, so I don't want to get into the politics of it all. I liked flying with the many of the AABO pilots, but it seems that they were on borrowed time. I have listened to all sides of the story over the last year, and I am actually sympathetic to all parties.
It was a bad move by management from the get go, and now it has been set straight, but not without hurting many people in the process.
There is a serious lack of leadership at Atlas Air, which is really sad because it is a great company in so many ways. I hope to be back to work soon, but who knows?

I am sure these numbers do not reflect Expenses, Executive Perks, Company car, Retention Bonuses, Performance Bonuses, Golden Parachute packages, etc. Who says there is no money in aviation.

Compared to the five million annually paid to Rick Schuyler during his reign, this is paltry. Rick made more than the CEO of Boeing.
After seeing how Atlas Air Worldwide has navigated the recent economic mess and still paid profit sharing, Mr. Flynn and his team certainly seem to be well worth his pay.
I wonder if the pilots at other carriers who are supposed to be holders of the brass ring feel?

I've noted that the past obvious AABO guys are silent. What became of the April meeting in STN with their chief pilot on their (AABO) situation. Any reputable details rather than rumours from on the line?

Wow...the silence is deafening!
A lot of unfortunate things are happening to a lot of good people in this industry at the moment, and none of us should take any satisfaction in any of it.
