KPMG will probably disappear very quietly into the background now and hope everyone and everything will go away and not bother them anymore. They must be saying to themselves "whose bright idea was it anyway to take on Emerald?"

I'm not sure what many people expect of KPMG, they are simply sorting the mess that a certain Accountable Manager created in the first place.

Maybe a timely reminder that if he had bothered to adhere to the basic principles of holding an AOC then this mess would never of had happened, remember the banks etc were happy with the JEM balance sheet just before the AM decided that he was immune to any non conformaties that the authority discovered.

I say timely because these very same people are starting up again, although it beggars belief that they are allowed to do so with so much money still being owed.

I almost fell over the other day when I heard that its being 'put about' that a 748 type rating course is being held in January, I urge anyone who doesnt know the full history of this very sorry mess to be very careful when handing over money.

Question Confused.con

EI-CGO. Is this real fact. I am confused that the Aviation and Tax Authorities haven't any objection or power to invoke a blocking action until they have investigated what went on before. I am a little shaken that MOB might be allowed to run anything more than a bath.
If it does get going then there will be a queue of willing new recruits and who can blame them for wanting a start, but if they are going to be offering Type Ratings then 'let the buyer beware' as the lawyers say. I would take advice on ways of legally protecting the money until the Rating has been delivered.

Last I heard theyr is still such a shortage of freight capacity that anything (and anyone) that can fly can get work. Hence The useless OM getting another go. . As for KPMG they'll continue to charge out at £200 an hour while we struggle to earn £200 a day . They get paid first and we have to hope theyre's a bit left over for us at the end?

That's really sad. They may have been ugly, but they were fun to fly. R.I.P. (Rust In Pieces.)

Five Sheds at Coventry 16th last month two of them looked destened for the brakers yards, two others just seem to have an engine missing and the fifth was locked away in a hangar.

The one locked away could be the one that is worth it weight to get back in the air as I would think it might be one of the one with the latest mods??

Nothing around at the moment that can replace the shed long live a shorts model??

The Sheds

With regard to the Sheds only two have current C's of A. The rest will need to be issued with new certificates after maintenance. All have now been registered to BAC and of the four at Blackpool the only operational one,
G-ROND, flew out to Edinburgh on 28th Nov. The only other serviceable machine G-SSWC from Southend is in service as G-TMRA.

We will await developments on the remainder !

Good luck.

The ATP at Ronaldsway flew out this week too. God only knows what state this poor beast was in, after spending so many months sat at the southern next to the sea... when I flew the ATP, they only had to spend a night in the wind and rain to start acting up and falling over at the first sign of being asked to go flying.

I would be amazed if that thing woke up and had all it's vital systems working, autofeather amongst them....We all saw it go, and most of us had our hearts pumping as we wished the crew good luck in getting airbourne.

It's been nearly six years since I last flew one, G-MANU, formally G-BUUP and star of the Liverpool slide..... I don't miss the aircraft, but I do miss the good times at Manx though!

Best of luck to all of you looking for work and a safe future.....shame there's so many BACONers also looking for all those jobs....

I see that JetPhotos.net have a shot of G-JEMX in full Emerald colours at SEN, apparently taken over the weekend. Reference to the CAA Register shows this aircraft to be ex-G-SSWX, having been registered to BAC Leasing on 28.11.06.
It was reportedly photographed awaiting a freight load, so who operates this aircraft currently?

Shame indeed.

BA running riot again, buying up useful cost effective companies, wrecking the whole infrastructure `cos there might be a quid in it, and then taking a dump on seniority, pensions, bases.
Surprise ?
The only surprise to me is that we let a preditory public company call themselves " British Airways "
They should be stripped of that title.
"P**key Airways" would do.
Scotland in the sixties ? that was the start.

No light at the end.

I got a huge mailing from KPMG yesterday confirming that there will be no money for ex-employees. I'm afraid that having skimmed it for relevant info I chucked it in the bin in disgust.

The assets have mainly been sold and the debtors have been paid in order of priority, but one of the banks is still owed more than the scraps that are left.

I'm disgusted that the ex-employees have even lost the pension contributions that were deducted from wages, but not actually paid by Emerald for several months. Apparently that is not illegal; well it bl@@dy well should be. We don't even know yet how many pension payments we have lost. I'll bet AJ's and MOB's were paid up to date.

KPMG have treated employees with contempt since may.It comes as no surprise that the employees get sweet FA yet the institutions receive a payout. As stated, insolvency proceedings can appear very unfair and illegal, but unfortunately this is the way of things in the UK.No different than conditions in a victorian workhouse. And by the way,not an ounce of assistance from BALPA....another wasted subscription I fear.
