Evergreen International Aviation, a global leader in providing total aviation capabilities and military airlift support, and Omega Air, the innovative aviation company that developed the first certified civil military refueling aircraft, introduce Global Airtanker Service (GAS).
By combining proven commercial military refueling experience and extensive widebody aircraft modifications expertise, GAS is unveiling the cost effective, state-of-the-art KDC-10 aircraft.
Global Airtanker Services’ KDC-10 aircraft offers both mission proven hose and drogue and centerline boom refueling capability. Offering high flow rates from all three refueling stations, which include dual wing pods and either a centerline hose or boom, or both, the KDC-10 possesses a much improved operational fuel offload and payload range over all today’s aerial refueling aircraft
The KDC-10 aircraft is supported by GAS’s turnkey commercial refueling services. These services included aircraft, flight crews, maintenance and logistical support. This full range of support services are available on an "as needed" basis without the expense of aircraft ownership.

Think somebody has missed the point here. Read the last couple of lines -
They are aiming for the military market &, the last figures I saw at least, they seem to have the costings about right. Good luck to them.

747 classic, Gaddafi didn't need tankers, he used CL44s, 28 tons at a time, M.55, cruising at 4400lbs fuel/hour.
Interesting to remember that inflight refuelling all started in a pub in Ennis. The original photos used to be on the wall in the back bar.

Don't forget all those small countries that can not afford a new Airbus or Boeing Tanker. It is cost effective for them to lease tankers. Some of the larger military forces can expand their tanker capability by leasing..

So, if you crew this thing do you get to wear a "zoom bag" a use one of those kool tactical call signs?
Why do "smaller countries" need the reach that a tanker would give them unless they have colonialism thoughts? You would think they would be happy protecting their own little piece of the pie!

Most smaller countries are thinking defense. An example would be a Fighter CAP at the FIR which has to stay airborne for long periods of time. During the Gulf Wars a lot of the refueling going on was aircraft waiting on their targets to be designated.
The only museum aircraft we have with refueling capability are the SR-71 and the F-15. Maybe one of the MIGs but I'm not sure. I've already volunteered to fly them for testing purposes.

The case you have mentioned is exactly the problem why there is no "outsourcing" exist in certain areas.
How private-own equipment, registered in the state "A", crewed by civilian crews, citizens of the state "A", would be allowed to participate in real war between states "B" and "C" on behalf of state "B" for example?
It is 100% useless to have eqipment available for training purposes while you know it wouldn't be available for the real job on the day "X".

EIA has a long history of doing things for the State Dept. Do you remember a Lt Col by the name of Olie North? That was one of the few things that leaked out.
