DP says a project team has been formed to look at bases. How many AOA reps are on it?
|
Haha. Love the sarcasm. :ok:
|
He didn’t say a project team had been formed, he said they were in the process of forming a project team. Two quite different statements.
In essence, he said, we aren’t opening bases. Ever. Another reason to leave. |

Not satisfied with a single screwing ...now we have a DP team?

In case it isn't perfectly clear: make for the lifeboats asap, as this ship has struck the iceberg and will sink. The management are sitting on the deck playing their instruments, but their feet are already getting wet. There is no saving this airline, as the management have no credibility, no honesty, no morality, no competence, no vision. It is dead. If you have any other option, take it while it is still available. Otherwise, you will find yourselves (and your families) in an impossible and horrid situation. Then, you will only have yourselves to blame.
|
One other failing of our management. They have no respect for their employees, or value their contribution. That leads to the abuse of their employees, and the resulting dysfunction and eventual failure of the airline.

Blunderbus,
I see what you did there. I believe the Italians would call that a "double inyourendo". :O |
Yet another amusing update on bases today just reiterating that bases are indeed dead, or did I misinterpret it?

No. You nailed it. Bases are dead. Be guided accordingly.
|
Yes, Dead.
It’s not too hard to look at the track record for information releases in the past and see a pattern. Usually it’s not a whole YEAR away for an “update” though, which is why this one is especially telling. It’s full out damage control if you’re able to read it...some interpreted this as the Co. saying that the opening of the bases is too costly...which is exactly what they said! We all heard you loud and clear DP and we’ve made our decision. Qualified, experienced pilots are leaving in droves over this issue. It’s not more money we always want, we just want to go home. Heck, I could be based in NA with Hainan! Resumes out and headed home.
|
I guess the company is included the legal costs they incur when they fail to follow local laws in the bases they have. If they did thing properly (legally) then these costs wouldn't happen. A based pilot has no housing or education so of course money could be saved - but only if you do things legally. Not a strong point for our mis-managers.
