It was always going to be until after the 2022 Winter Olympics. The main issue that we arrive at is their intention to keep china closed to the world.
As far as the Visa issue go I have heard there are a few at HKA that have been denied and packed their bags. No real reports on the situation at CX. But as others have said that 6 month extension is up very soon.
