Three Questions
1. Do your union bylaws allow for a vote of no confidence to be put forward for your chairman? (what a disgrace --- that is all I will say on that).
2. Do your union bylaws allow for a member to put forward a motion - TO STRIKE?
3. If the answer is yes to 1 and/or 2, WTH are you waiting for? There is literally nothing left to lose.
Another peak travel season is just around around the corner and there is still time to organise. Saying that you will be out sick or how much you are going to cost the operation is simply not enough. Look how effective that was last year. This is probably your last chance to right the ship. Someone has to step up and show some courage here. It just takes one person to get this started... If you're not willing to stick your necks out now, then you may as well sign POS18. I have no doubt the sign or resign scenario is coming.... You guys have nothing left to lose. Just sayin....

We went through this sh-t back in 99, yet even then the pilots weren’t prepared to go out . The company called our bluff correctly . I was prepared to go out along with a small minority but not enough people to make a difference . Everyone had an excuse at the time , I’ve got a mortgage , or kids in school, or just got promoted , It was disgusting to see so many roll over and submit .
‘I cannot even begin to describe the panic that would reverberate around the 3rd floor and the board if just for once the majority found their courage and walked . All this sh-t would stop and they would never try anything else again .
Go out , demand a 15% pay rise and a properly worded COS . Without , wording such as , normally , or can be altered by the company at any time . What have you got to lose , your job ? Is it even worth having any more ?
sorry just woke up from my daydream because it will never become a reality. the company has taken almost everything else from you so you might as well let them take your dignity too ........

"....you might as well let them take your dignity too...".
Well, this time it feels as though the AOA is the one trying to "take my dignity". I am utterly bewildered how the GC could "recommend" this appalling and contemptible offer. Ultimately, it is up to the individual members as to whether or not they throw away (forever imho) the last shred of their career potential. If this deal goes through, you can be certain that you will bitterly regret it. It will not only spell the end of any hope of a viable career, but at the same time give the company a victory they could barely have imagined when we voted down the last TA. If the last TA wasn't worthy, then this one is an absolute slap in the face. DS, you and the others who have taken this decision have effectively placed the entire future of our families, our organization and our careers on the cliff edge. I am appalled. You can take if as a certainty that this is a NO from me. Sickening.
