6 days to go and then - CONSEQUENCES!!!!!!!
"despite negotiations progressing well, we are unfortunately unable to come to an agreement. We will keep you posted on further developments. Meantime the A787-350F delivery is going nicely and will bring welcome relief to the Airboeing rosters.....yada yada yada!!"
Maybe they are secretly making a reality TV show of the negotiations. There's always a deadline in those. And a loser for comic relief. And a lot of bleeped-out swearing.

Although Slosar just said in todays SCMP that there is now a need for "consolidation".
So pressure off, no need to negotiate anymore.... we've missed the boat...again!

If a customer purchases a First Class ticket on CX he/she has a right to expect a First Class product, not some" down to the lowest cost they can get away with" service. Perhaps this thinking is why passenger numbers are down, there is a huge pressure on revenue and the profit making premium passenger is deserting CX in droves to go to competitors where there is no such blurring of distinction between a full service airline and a Low Cost Carrier? It is a worry about the direction of the once proud de facto flag carrier of Hong Kong.

"Cathay is investing heavily on information technology...." He said.
😂😂😂😂
I was just met with a popup on our staff travel platform which was titled "Error", followed by the verbatim description "There was error".
These people cannot seriously believe the statements they make.

That's the real tragedy of it. They DO believe what they say. CX has sadly found themselves at a defining moment in history with probably the most clueless and inept bunch of management miscreants they could have possibly cobbled together. From that will come ruin. We are watching it unfold every day.

Yes, they could do many things to piss us off next week but not much to help sort out the real problem, and experience tells us that pissing the aircrew off is higher up their priority list than solving problems, so that's what we can expect.
News from negotiations is that its the same old people pulling the same old sh!t so we can probably expect no agreement in the room and AT bringing in a slightly improved (but still substandard) offer on June 1st if she wants to deal. There is some hope as SK isn't too heavily involved but I'm tempering my optimism!

and yet another one falls for the doom and gloom line.

Those of us who have been put out of work by real bankrupt airlines will know exactly how it plays out... and we are not there..... yet!

Amen to that, these are the normal fear tactics played during negotiations. They will move money and front end on debt to hide their assets while pointing the finger elsewhere , seen it before just like Asian eagle
The last time I went through this type of thing a day after a deal was struck newterminals an airplanes started magically Appearing even though the company a month before said there was not money left due to market conditions, hmm sound familiar?
If it were a sale like some have speculated, you would see them selling small things to increase cash flow, i.e. Old simulators, Maintenice parts and equip stuff like that as also cutting labor across the board to maximize workflow to show a lean and streamlined business model even though in truth it's a company about to break. Again seen this before.
We follow more under model A this time hold the line keep strong

At a time when many airlines worldwide are turning very high profits we need to consolidate and tighten the belt?
Either sheer incompetence or lying thru their teeth!
It would be hard to decide with this bunch. Probably a bit of both.

But in a sick way, I kind of hope that it ends up in all out war.
Like the feeling I used to get as a child, when a toy was broken, and I couldn't fix it, so I smashed it..... so then I wouldn't have to worry about the toy not being perfect. I could just throw away the pieces and move on.
This is precisely how I feel about the situation we find ourselves in with CX management... well said.
