DDIS eDocs problems?

HELP!

Just tried to install the latest rubbish update following all the protocols detailed in the emails etc and keep getting the 'page not found' on both PC and Mac, this despite being logged into idisconnect as required.

Anyone else having problems or got a solution?

Also had to delete PDF files for other two fleets from the registration process duh!

Thx

I've never been able to get it to work. I've had 3 attempts and have now given up.

Each time I go into my account, the boeing fleet manuals are all selected and I have to go through and manually de-select every tail number for the QRH section on both B777 & B744!

There is no contact email on the site and no help files.

Initially when it first came out I got it to work partially, only downloaded the FCTM and nothing else.

Waste of time. Just download the bundle when you need them…like once a year with the tech quiz.

Thanks

Spent an hour on the phone with IT (intellectual torment) without success...

It looks as if their wonderful system will only work with older browser versions and not latest Safari 5.0.5 or Firefox 5.

Nb. under general reminders on the sign-in page says that it was last updated Oct 2009. Says it all really!

Me too. It was a pain in the bottom but I ended up following the instructions to the letter in slow time, changed the update time to 1 minute and left it for a while. Eventually when I came back it had started and as the update time's set to one minute, every time I connect to iconnect it downloads a bit more.

In the edocs folder it's given me some Airbus folders but there's nothing in them so it may be just that it needs to have the titles there for the docs you don't need.

It's a very user-unfriendly system to set up!

i have left the update time at 30 mins. Exit the DDis program start up again and it will immediately start downloading - no need to be connected to intracx!

Success!

Managed to sort it out. Problem was limited to downloading the new 'client' which was only accessible from Groupwise not Outlook.

Thanks for the constructive input.

I am unable to open it from outlook.

Any help?

It appears mail is currently routed through the Groupwise server to the new Outlook system, so it can be found in the sent items folder in your Groupwise account.

Open the registration email and the envelope in the title bar to reveal the link to download the 'Client', then copy the eDocs cert to your computer and you should be able to get it up and running.

Quite a runaround... I had more trouble getting it to work on the Mac than the PC, having had to repeat the install / uninstall process a couple of times before the registration was recognised by DDIS eDocs!

Good luck!

Ddis problems

I,ve tried installing the DDIS on my MAC it works fine for some manuals ,but it will not download the aircraft manuals
Tried calling IT at CX , they can,t help but indicated that the problem was at their server .They will be looking into the problem this week Hopefully they can get it fixed
Updating the iPad works perfectly
If you cannot open the DDIS client from outlook simply forward the email to your own private mail and it should be okay to open it from there
Remember that you need to switch to iconnect plus it works better

I just had a reply back from IT saying that they have passed my email (error logs included) onto Manager Ground Training.

The email also stated strangely enough that the Airbus manuals are not even loaded into the DDIS system yet!

Has anyone on the Airbus fleet been downloading? or are the replies above from those on the Boeing?

Waldo

Maybe try de-registering from DDIS, then initiate a new registration after deleting all the DDIS files off your computer.

During the new registration in the DDIS portal, delete/uncheck all the fleet (Airbus or Boeing) files you don't need (pdf/HTML), then go through the client installation process using the Groupwise access described earlier.

For what it's worth I was unable to access Iconnect plus on the Mac due to an inability to load the network client. This was with so called assistance from the CX IT solutions team!

Good luck

ps. I'm Boeing but it looked like all the Airbus files were in the system too

What a process….I had to resend it back to cathay email, in order to do the download of the client. As stated earlier, you must do it through Groupwise and it was only recoverable through the SENT mail. Very important to do that. Just send it back to your home email, then send it back to yourself at CX email, if you can't find it. IN groupwise.

Good luck.

Silent Running,

Thanks for your reply. I have been trying the DDIS system since it was first introduced and each time have deleted everything and started again. The last time I did it I swore I wasn't going to attempt again and just use the manual download system. But I fell for it.

The email I got back from someone in Ground Training (after my email to IT) said that "Some of the Airbus manuals should be loaded into the system now" which leads me to think that not all of them are loaded.

I'm currently successfully downloaded OPS-A, FCTM (both HTML/PDF versions), A330 DDG. All of the other manuals are selected in the portal.

The error I'm getting back is a 404 error which in server speak means the page or file doesn't exist.

So can I confirm that you have ALL of the Airbus manuals as well?

It has downloaded the folder for some of the other manuals but not the manual itself.

This is such a waste of time. They should have hired a developer other than a shop at Wanchai Computer Centre to implement this.

Waldo

I haven't downloaded any of the Bus manuals I just assumed they were there because the DDIS selection is available, the same as the Boeing. Maybe someone with a Phd in ITcrapspeak could enlighten us further.

I do share your pain though as this has to be one of the (probably) cheapest and most user unfriendly systems I've ever encountered, bear in mind also that this is the starting point for the future... Lord help us!

Good luck, I hope you still have your sanity after spending all your G days trying to solve this one.

A lot of the manuals aren't yet available through DDIS and therefore can't be downloaded through eDocs. For example, the only Airbus manuals that are available are the FCTM and the DDGs for the A330 & A340. The rest of them must be downloaded manually.

Well another problem has presented itself; after resetting the target destination of the manuals so that it can be synced to Dropbox, has resulted in incomplete downloading, or stalling. No matter how long you leave it connected, the download is now less than the original destination. Any thoughts on this? Why? How to fix?

Buzzbox,

Yeah confirmed, these are the only two manuals downloading.

So here's an idea…why not remove the links for the ones that aren't available? and put out a NTC saying which ones are?

I've deleted and started this entire process a few times now thinking it wasn't working, when I find out now that the friggin manuals aren't even available in the system?
