Thumbs down Aboriginnal claim for the "flying kangaroo"

Did anyone else catch 10 news tonight.... the Aboriginal activists at the tent embassy in Canberra who stole the Australian Coat of Arms are now proceeding with legal action against QF regarding the use of the "flying kangaroo" which they regard as a breach of copyright!!

When are these ##$#ards going to realise that we dont all owe them a living and get off their lazy #$#es and improve their lot with the considerable taxpayer funding heading their way already!

After all, If people of European decent werent here during WWII they'd all be worse off now no doubt!

Im sick of it!

Captain, we up north all know what you are on about, especially when the come in and ask to go to somewhere, and then not have to pay.. .I could go on an on, but it'll just close the thread, so i won't.. .But your right.. .Had a friend in Alice, bought a block of land, had a small tree in the middle of it, he went to go cut it down, then one of the natives, a teenager i think he said, wandered past, he said you cant cut that down, its a sacred tree.. .So he cant cut it down, or risk getting in a bit of trouble, so he put his stuff back in his ute, then he "accidently" put the ute in reverse, and sadly in the process, ran over the tree.

Yeah, I loved Mike Munro's quip at the end of that story. "The high court challenge is being funded by the Australian taxpayer". . . . .If the critters are so sacred.. why do they kill and eat them?. .Good tucker ay?. .What should we use instead? A wichiti grub and a wobbegong? . .Or how about 2 coffee cups to show what mugs we are!

Perhaps they are after a 'user pays' system.

I can live with that. We'll pay for use of the Kangaroo and emu and we'll start charging those on welfare the money they take from the rest of us taxpayers. Funny how both numbers will cancel each other out!!

If this is true it is indeed a very sad day for reconciliation.

Sadly it is very true. One of the very few times I have watched the program. They are also after the coat of arms symbol apparently a great disrespect for their culture AND the Caramello Koala, now come on!! Basically any commercial symbol which they regard people are benefitting from that has a koala, kangaroo, enchidna, kookaburra, etc if approved by the courts will be in breach. They are considering however a user pay system which seems very kind considering it will save us changing the australian currency emblems, business logo's etc.Even the, is it "kookaburra" brand cricket balls? was mentioned. And of course the Government would be called upon to compensate business for their losses if forced to change these. Now I realise some harsh things were done years ago and I know some very descent indigenous people but surely this is not going to help their cause with gaining respect from the average australian taxpayer.. .So what shape animal will the caramello koala's become?

With the wake-up by Australians finaly realising that the country has been the laughing-stock of SEA by accepting any bloodey ilegal imigrant who invented a sad enough sob storey, Idve thought all that recon crap wouldve disappeared with it.

Cool

When did a VERY small group of UNELECTED generally unsupported Aboriginals suddenly come to represent the entire Aboriginal people?

About the same time we began believeing that mass media was not sensational?

Or do we deduce that, from the huge sample of posts above, that it would be fair to say that ALL pilots are racist, small dicked, toss bags who have a grammatical deficiency? Of course not.

Why dont you get your hands off it and open your eyes?

What are they going to call the animals in court? As I see it there are numerous different names for these animals in the aboriginal language, so to use the english names would be counter-productive.

Or are going to fund court cases for each tribe?

The mind boggles.

How do I obtain a "copyright" on my kids so I can charge them royalities. They make more money than I do so it may be a way to recover some of the expenses for raising them.

Whats going to happen then when VH-VXB (one of the new QF jets) is getting painted in an Aboriginal scheme - will they want royalties for this too? And possible back-payment for OJB and EBU???

It's very sad that a very small minority of Aboriginal people make it so hard for the others, for that is what they are...a minority. They usually do not have the sanction of other aboriginal groups or elders.

We all know an aboriginal family (don't we)...well I do... and I have enormous respect for them as they are as hard working as any other Australian, but have certainly received their fair share of racist treatment. They don't agree with all these claims made by the activists. At one stage they made approaches to the Aboriginal Lands Council in their area to become involved, and were told 'no thanks'.

If you do not have a person of Aboriginal descent in your circle of friends/family, it would be hard for you to see they are not all the same.

One way for Qantas to get around this would be to put the wings back on the kangaroo.

Aboriginals are not all the same !! TRUE. . . .Racism these days is walking down the street in Darwin/Alice Springs or Cairns and being called a white C^&*&. If I complained to the cops they would laugh me out the door. The civil libertarians would tag me a racist. . .You people should read the northern local newspapers and read how many assaults especially on young girls break-ins and general harrassment we are subject to by this very large minority. How do we know it is this group? Because they are not smart enough to get away, they do get caught, we just are not smart enough to keep them locked up.

Until people especially the peolpe from down south have a better understanding of how aboriginals mix or don't mix in society we have no hope. If you believe every thing you see on Mike Munro and the likes you are well and truely dreaming. . .A typical Arnhem land indigenous type has more benifits and opportunities that my kids and I could even dream of, they just don;'t use many of them.

as for the Kangaroo/Emu etc next time I hit one in my car doing extensive damage, can I send the bill to ATSIC or some one?

Ever seen job ads in the paper now with the following caption

People of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent are encouraged to apply

Now if they if they replaced Aboriginal with European and Torres with Western....that would be racist.

Funny how it never works the other way round.

It seems to me these people are just stirring things up. To claim the kangaroos on the Qantas a/c are sacred is absurd. They are merely after a cut to increase their income combined with their dole checks.

It's simple, leave the aboriginals alone and throw all the so called civil rights type idiots in jail ( most of which are'nt black anyway ).

Ever noticed how these white morons that arrive at all the protests all look like the same dolebludging treehuggers ? is that what you call actively seeking employment.

As has already been mentioned numerous times, some "so called " Australians need to bluddy well wake up, this sort of thing ( incuding the illegal immigrants ) is only going to get worse.

OK guys,I`m not a white southern do gooder.I was brought up in Darwin.

Just a question for those a little side tracked.

If you had a young daughter, would you prefer her to grow up in Australian society white or black?Have a think regarding acceptance etc.

As for QF jumbo "city of Redfern",that can go surely.
