First training course started yesterday. Another interview session starting 27th March. Seems like it will be a huge interview as I know of many people attending plus you guys here. Can anyone tell me if they are interviewing everyone who applied or do AO have a short list? This may turn out to be an expensive excersise for those not living in Cairns but good luck to all. There are medicals to go through if you get that far plus the moving costs to Cairns, and they don't provide accommoation for training anymore, which is partly in CNS. Apparently a good company to work for but it will cost you first up. Good luck to all.

Australian Airlines

It's amazing when you finally receive that illustrious phone call from an airline isnt it! I received mine from Australian whislt laying in bed after being in hospital for 24 hours with food poisoning..- the last thing I felt like was talking to a airline recritment officer..anyway i managed to get thru the initial stages of the call and breathed a sigh of relief that she didnt ask me any real in depth qus as i hardly had the energy to answer the yes no qus!
Nonetheless I was pretty happy until I remeasured myself to find out I dont make the cut height wise and would be very foolish of even entertaining the idea of travelling to CNS for an interview on the 27th! Talk about an anti-climax! the recruitment officer kept stressing the importance of being the correct height, and that anyone who didint make the cut would be eliminated before even having an opportuinity to open their mouth in an interview!
So it looks like the BIg QF and it's subsidaries are out for me..
it's very frustrating when u were flying ( in the good old days) with a regional and passionately (like all of us on this post) want to fly!
back to the drawing board hey- anyone with any useful info re height requirements etc and airlines that accept midgets like me !(160cms )would be very much appreciated!

How did it go?

To all those who were having interviews this week, how did they go?
Did they mention anything about any ground schools coming up soon? Or are they just planning on putting everyone on active hold?
I'm still waiting to hear from them. My thumbs are nearly twiddled out
Let us know how you all got on

Heard from a friend who attended an interview on Thursday that they were told that there was a training school in at the moment and they have another penciled in for later (no date given). They also said that they had the people needed for those schools and that if they were successful at their interviews they would be going on a waitlist. Hope this helps a little.
