Wink Qantas -its started

Hi, I'm a new pruner on the block so please look after me.
Currently a flight attendant for regional airline but also am in with a go at a 2nd interview for Qantas on Tuesday.

I got a call but all my other collegues bar one didn"t so how the hell does that work and why I wonder?

Can you veterans help me out as I hear that the line of questions for the one on one later stage are from a book. And of course if anyone has the book and would care to mention afew questions which they may ask I will be very grateful.

This is my third crack for the red roos so wish me luck!!

Is anyone else a tad stressed?

Skypryncess,

You are correct QCC4 is the same building as where LH base is located. Just take the lift up to the 4th floor and upon exiting the lift turn right and go through glass door.

Cheers and good luck.

GOOD LUCK to all those with interviews around the country this week. Unfortunately I am not one of the lucky ones this time but maybe soon. Please let us know how you all go and best of luck to all candidates.

Shaggs

P.S. Congratulations to Qantas for stuffing up the recruitment process for everyone.......AGAIN!!!!!

Hi Guys
Have just finished Stage 2 interview, went for about
3 1/2 - 4 Hours.
No panel interview (that's the next stage !!)
All group, very relaxed and very friendly, nothing too difficult,
know a bit about Qantas..history etc.
Do about 4 different group assessments, a different facilitator assessing you for each activity.

We will be advised by email within 48hrs if
1.We go through to Stage 3 (panel interview)... or
2. Thanks, but no thanks.

Hope this helps you !!!!
Good Luck !!!!!!!!

Airtart

Thanks for the info, I feel a bit more relaxed now I know the format. Have been busy cramming my tiny head full of useful facts about qantas, my head feels like it will explode, information overload.

Have my interview tomorrow morning,up nice and early for a brisk walk to clear the head.

Good luck to everyone.

Unhappy i'm gooooorne

I had my stage 2 group interview on Monday. Thought i did fairly well, answered some company history questions which i thought impressed, but just got my rejection email this (Tuesday) afternoon. Oh well, at least this whole episode got me off my backside to get my senior first aid certificate, and a useless RSA certificate lol. and to think i paid extra to have the photo id version of the RSA, which as a matter of fact i'm still waiting for. But hey i'm not bitter, just a little empty and dissapointed tonight. I'll get over it though, and i know i won't be alone, but that makes me sadder.

Good luck to everyone else!!

Ps. I finally got my call from staffcv, this morning, AFTER STAGE 2!!!

Try not to bash yourself up too much about missing out THIS time
it's OK to feel sorry for yourself for a SHORT period of time.
In the past I have allowed myself no more than 3 days to whinge and post mortem the interview.
After that, it is time to start refocusing for the next opportunity that will come along.

Australian Airlines will be looking for Cabin Crew in the second half of 2003.They will be opening their 2nd crew base as well, location not known at this stage, but Melbourne is a favourite !
Don't forget that Qantas is expanding, they will need a lot more crew in the next year.

Don't give up !!!!
Ask yourself :
How badly do you want to fly ?
What do I have to do to achieve sucess in the interview process ?

Hey I IN THE SKY

Know how u feel, the rejection can be pretty bad...best way to look at it is that it just wasn't meant to be. Maybe something better is around the corner, or the timing just aint right!
This QF interview will be my 10th interview this year! arghhh But u just gotta keep going and going!

Good Luck!

Hey I-in-the-sky! Don't bother trashing yourself with chocolate ice cream for days okay? We already have someone (I won't mention your name Kjay, I promise!) with previous history of food poisonning after a negative answer... it's not the case to repeat such a thing!! Still, the coated brownies are a must! Try them before the interview instead of after... much more enjoyable! After all, don't we all forget GUILT quicker than DISAPPOINTMENT??

Persistance is THE KEY WORD! I am personally still waiting for 2 companies to give me their answer after a stage II with both of them, however tonight I've booked another ticket to the UK for an assessment with british midland... just in case!!!!!!!.... Gosh! I got bumped by so many companies in 2002 that I don't even remember how many of them said no... eehh... let's try: Sunstate, Impulse, Emirates, Australian Airlines (x2), Virgin Blue, United... oh! Qantas and Eastern even refused to give me an interview because of my visa... Now I'm having a crack at the other side of the globe... Already 3 interviews in less than a month.
So, for time being, the Grand Total is 8, going for 9 this week-end!
Believe me, there are plenty of people in this industry who scored between 11 and 14!!!!!... Others simply got it from day one! I don't have such a Charm I guess, but I know I can do a great job if I find my little spot... The more I get rejected, the more I convince myself I really have something to give, otherwise I wouldn't insist so much torturing my self-esteem!!

Really folks! I know I might sound like an old bag with this bla bla but any successful man will tell you the same: PERSISTANCE PAYS OFF! Positive thinking and a smile on your face will also help!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Mrs. FloatJockey

QF Domestic-Perth

Expect the QF domestic base to open April 2003. They will require 60 cabin crew and will advertise locally.
